The 21-year-old reality TV star – who is currently in a Malibu rehab facility after her June 2011 suicide attempt – may have a hard time if she decides to regain custody after recent events.
Gary’s attorney, Jeff Lockwood, tells Star magazine he believes that custody of lovely Leah will indeed be a permanent situation.
“I think custody will go to Gary,” Lockwood states. To regain custody, Amber would need to be “able to maintain a clean track record.”
This feat could prove to be an uphill battle for Amber. Not only was she hospitalized in June for a suicide attempt, she was also investigated by Child Protection Services and jailed on domestic abuse charges last year.
However, Gary does not plan on preventing Amber from seeing little Leah.
“We will aim for her to have a whole lot of visitations,” Lockwood reported. He also hinted at the fact that the dynamic duo may even move in together so Amber can still maintain full time mommy duties, even though she can’t have custody.
