Kimberly Stewart & Benicio Del Toro Name Daughter Delilah

In an interview with USA Today, proud grandpa Rod Stewart reveals the name of his new granddaughter: Delilah!

Born on Sunday, August 21, baby Delilah is the first child for Kimberly Stewart and her ex Benicio del Toro – and the first grandchild for the 66-year-old ‘Forever Young’ singer.

“I’m a grandfather now,” Rod gushes. “I’ve been going around blabbing that for hours now.”

Rod, a dad-of-eight himself, reveals that the whole family was on hand to support Kimberly during the delivery, including his ex Alana Hamilton Stewart.

“We had everyone at the hospital to help Kimberly. I won’t say we always agree, but we get along,” he says.

Do we know for sure that the baby actually has his last name? Could be Stewart, not del Toro. In a situation like this where they aren’t married and never even had a relationship, often the babies are given the mother’s last name.

Delilah = a treacherous and cunning femme fatale also means weakened or uprooted or impoverished. Not a good name for a child lol. I know BDT is a Tom Jones fan but was this BDT choice or Kimbo’s?

It’s a nice name but sad that she won’t be brought up in a house with a mother and father who are married or at least live together.

Maybe it’s not your ideal, but I wouldn’t call it “sad”. Sad is being brought up neglected. Sad is not having anyone to love and care for you. Sad is being abuse. Sad is being impoverished.

Sad is *not* being raised in a family that is clearly thrilled about your arrival.

It’s not sad, she obviously has a large and loving family–and plenty of money as well, that child won’t ever want for anything material. And as living with a mom and dad is concerned, who says Kimberly won’t fall in love and get married soon enough? So could Benicio del Toro, although I believe he says he’s against marriage, but then guys like that often surprise you. Look at Warren Beatty, a happy family man in the end. Delilah will do fine.

People do not need to be married to be loving parents/families. That’s a ridiculous and outdated notion and it’s incredibly offensive.

those who have kids before marriage are unlikely to stay together than those who marry before having kids a statistical fact!

Marriage – outdated really? I guess you haven’t been married…Maybe you need a sociology lesson alot of kids born out of marriage are those that rely on welfare/benefits. Alot of my family members teach kids where a large percentage of the parents are not married and don’t have a father living at home. These kids are most likely to end up in prison FACT. Rich people can afford to have kids with multiple partners because they can afford to bail them out and excuse their behaviour (step forward Rod Stewart and other famous Hollywood fathers). Let’s not romanticise the situation people shall we?
