Melanie Brown‘s new baby girl is still without a name – the happy mom reports that she’s passed the task of picking the perfect name on to her 12-year-old daughter Phoenix Chi.
“My daughter Phoenix wants to pick her sisters baby name,so fingers crossed she picks a good one!!,” Mel Tweeted shortly after her new daughter’s arrival last week.
It seems Phoenix is taking the job very seriously. The former Spice Girl Tweeted an update yesterday morning: “Phoenix my daughter is still deciding our babies name,i don’t wanna rush her,it will be soon!”
We can’t wait to hear it!
In the meantime, one thing is for certain: The arrival of their new daughter means that Mel’s hubby Stephen Belafonte is now far outnumbered on the home front!
“Us girls are running the house right now poor @Stephenthinks1 doesn’t stand a chance,” writes Mel, who is also mom to 4-year-old Angel Iris and stepmom to 7-year-old Gisele.

Oh Courtney, can’t you tell by her tweets that Mel plans on releasing the name eventually? Like, her choice, no one else’s? Chillax.

More power to Melanie because I can’t see myself letting anyone name my kids but me, even if it is my older daughter, lol.
I think it’s ridiculous to leave the naming of a person to a child. I’m sure we’ll hear the name, see the photos etc. She’s desperate for attention.
She is not the only one who gives an older child a say in naming the new baby (what about SJP and Matthew Broderick, I didn’t hear anyone complain then).
I’m sure the name will be uncommon and special, but I bet she and Stephan have a say in it as well. I can’t believe that she gives the baby any name Phoenix choses, despite if she is ok with it or not.
