Matt Damon: My Kids Call Me Baldie

Matt Damon: My Kids Call Me Baldie

Shaved head and all, Matt Damon was photographed signing autographs for fans in New York City on Wednesday (September 7). The father-of-four did the morning talk show circuit to promote his latest flick, Contagion.

Of course, his new ‘do was a hot topic! “My kids love to touch my head – it’s their favorite past time,” Matt told Regis and Kelly on LIVE!. The actor added, “That’s how I get my 10-month-old to laugh! If I stick my head in front of her for long enough she just starts [he motions his baby patting his head].”

Matt, 40, added that his girls – Alexia, 13, Isabella, 5, Gia, 3, and Stella, 10 months – love to call him “baldie.” The proud papa couldn’t help but boast about his sweet daughters. “They’re the most beautiful girls in the world,” he said.

He also gushed about his other favorite girl: his wife of nearly 6 years, Luciana Barroso. “Don’t get me talking about her because I get all mushy,” he said. “I met her when I was 32 and Alexia was 4-years-old so I jumped into parenthood right into the deep end.”

Regis and Kelly went on to tease him about living in a house full of girls.

“There’s a whole book written about choosing the sex of your kid,” Matt said. He added: “After three girls, my wife and I said, ‘Let’s buy the book.’ Then we thought… we’ve got three kids, that’s plenty for anybody.” Then he joked, “And then one night we went out to dinner.”

Matt said that they are thrilled with their family, just the way it is. “When she found out she was pregnant, I said, ‘Do you think we did it in the right time?’ and she said, ‘I don’t know!’ and we ended up with another girl. And we couldn’t be happier!” He added: “Girls take care of their dads!”

Matt also swung by The Today Show and described his shaved ‘do as “the Lauer” to host Matt Lauer. He talked about the excitement in the Damon household this week, since three of his four daughters are heading to school tomorrow.

[My] three-year-old, she still doesn’t know she’s going to school,” he said. “We have a 7th grader starting a new school, and my Kindergartener is really excited because she’s going back to school and seeing her friends.”
