Gwen Stefani & Kingston: School Days

Back to school!

No Doubt mom Gwen Stefani rocked the school run yesterday, picking up her adorable 5-year-old son Kingston from class in Los Angeles, California (September 7).

While the LAMB designer looked summer chic in a simple white tank and sheer skirt, her super stylish son toned down his normally funky fashion sense.

Stop buying and posting pictures of children at school!!!!!!!!!!

ITA - it's not only an intrusion on the celebrity, but think of all the other kids who are impacted by these strange men hovering around with cameras.

Love his new haircut. He looks so handsome.

I haven't recognized him in the last few photos posted, I think it's because he's been dressed in more neutral colors and outfits I see more often on little boys! He's cute no matter what!

Funny how she needs the nanny to accompany her to the school and carry her child's knapsack!! Pathetic.

What nanny? There is no nanny in these pictures.

Look at the first picture - I saw these pictures on another site and the nanny is walking ahead of Gwen carrying his school knapsack. For obvious reasons, CBS only bought the pics of Gwen & her son alone.

A full set of these photos were on another site and some of the shots showed the nanny. I think it was "IMNOTOBSESSED.COM"

Kingston looks terrific! And, so does his mom! :~ )

I don't know why some of you morons care whether she has a nanny or not. If you had her money, you'd have one too. Just look at the pictures and enjoy and stop acting like a immature child.

Lots of celebs have nannies (so do some of us "regular folk"). The difference is that most people probably don't need their nanny to come with them when they bring their child to school. BTW, I think you need to relax, this site allows comments for people to express their opinion(s)....from what I can see, there was nothing hateful, vulgar or offensive posted. Maybe you should head over to Nicolodean or Disney.

Has Gwen ever said anything claiming to be a better mother than anyone else? No? Then who cares if she has a nanny 24 hours a day? The kids are obviously well-taken care of, and that is all that matters. If they were being abused or neglected people might be justified in their criticism, but they're not.

And yes, people have the right to express their opinions. But other people have just as much right to criticize those opinions. Stupid opinions deserve all the responses they get.

I think you are taking this too seriously. People just wrote what they observed - she has a nanny 24/7 and is not exactly a "hands on" mom. Big deal. Why do you care anyway?

People have only written what they've observed - she has a nanny 24/7 and is not what you'd call a "hands on" mom when compared to various other celebs - big deal. Why do you care anyway?

I'm not the one who gets bent out of shape every time I see a picture of a complete stranger with a nanny. I'm not the one who thinks a complete stranger's choice of childcare is any of my business.

Lioness said:

Agreed, Anonymous, I don't get why Gwen's use of her nanny bothers some people so much, especially since she's not AT ALL the only celeb to have her nanny accompany her a lot. She looks pretty hands-on to me...

Lioness said:

I agree, the "why does she need a nanny?" comments are really, REALLY getting old... and silly, especially since she's hardly the only celeb who takes a nanny with her everywhere. Give it a rest already.

Anonymous said:

It's merely an observation - not even a subjective opinion - so why don't YOU get over it. If you have a problem with people submitting comments on a comment board, then don't come to the site. BTW, these comments pale in comparison to what I've seen elsewhere.

Lioness said:

Observation? Have you read the comments? These people are judging Gwen for doing something pretty much all celebs do, yet aren't criticized for. There are DEFINITELY subjective opinions on it- many of which are posted plainly for you to read, and if you don't think so, you should look up the word "subjective". I think the negative comments are strange, silly, and WELL overdone, and I'm free to say so. Telling me not to comment on an observation that I'VE made doesn't make much sense, given your argument. So you can leave me alone, and have a nice day.

R-E-L-A-X!!!! Why do you take negative comments about this particular celebrity so personally? You only seem to get your feathers ruffled when people point out the obvious about Gwen Stefani. I think it's time to come clean. Come on, I'm curious.

Anonymous 6:18@ No one said anything about her having a nannies but why she needs a nanny to come with her to take her kid to school.

"stop acting like a immature child." Yet you’re the one calling people morons so I guess you’re not so mature yourself are you.

Anonymous said:

Amy, thanks for saying what countless others are probably thinking and feeling too.

Victoria said:

The point is that it's her nanny, it doesn't matter if you don't think she needs or has to take the nanny with her wherever she goes, it's her choice to do so, which is all that matters.

Lioness said:

"why she needs a nanny to come with her to take her kid to school."

Maybe she doesn't- maybe she just WANTS the nanny there. Maybe the nanny's her friend, and they go shopping together after they drop Kingston off. Or maybe the nanny lives close to the school, and Gwen was giving her a ride home. Or maybe Gwen's just smart, and makes the most use out of the help she's PAYING for. Why does anyone care? It is the weirdest thing to me for people to keep griping about it...

He looks so much older just by thinking of him as a schoolboy now. Handsome.

But I don't understand all the hoopla about a nanny/babysitter/assistant. As long as the parents seem emotionally connected with the kids who cares who is with them. They're on the payroll, probably good company. Doesn't make them incompetent or uncaring parents, just that they have enough money to afford them.
