Victoria Beckham: I'm "Channeling My Inner Girl"

Victoria Beckham says her new affordable dress collection, Victoria by Victoria Beckham, reflects outfits she wanted to wear.

She said, “It’s definitely channeling my inner girl. I started this collection before I was pregnant and the doctors told me at first I was having a boy. So mainly I wanted to do dresses that I wanted, that weren’t ‘out there’ – and at the same time show that, contrary to what most people think, I do have a sense of humor.”

Explaining her collection, which made its debut at New York Fashion Week, she added: “It has taken ages to get this together because it took a long time to find a factory that could deliver the right quality at the right price. Otherwise we’d have done it sooner.”

She also recently joked that her baby daughter Harper likes shopping stating, “We went in to Prada yesterday and she loved it. It was if she was saying, “Mummy I’m home!”‘

Victoria and David Beckham also have sons, Brooklyn, 12, Romeo, 9, and Cruz, 6.

This is not an “affordable” dress collection in the truest sense of the word. These dresses retail for $450 to $1,250. That’s not “affordable” to MOST people.

She certainly takes her newborn out a lot.

Definitely not affordable. I think even Vera Wang has a more affordable line offering than she does. If Mrs. Beckham were so interested in making affordable dresses, she would offer them at $50-200.

Victoria line are more affordable than Katie Holmes clothing line which is just a remake of what other designers have done in the past with a new name, the lowest item being about 900 or 800$ way over price for such cheap looking clothes.

I think she’s great. Really down to earth. Not so keen on her new collection but generally I like her dresses.
