Brad Pitt: "It's Fatherhood First, Family First"

Brad Pitt says being a dad comes first. The actor says he makes sure he spends “one on one” time with Maddox, 10, Pax, 7, Zahara, 6, Shiloh, 5, and 3-year-old twins Knox and Vivienne, when he’s not working.

He tells Total Film magazine, “We’re a normal family, a mother and father, and the kids get unruly! The kids are fantastic and say the funniest things I’ve ever heard. The places they get to see they may not understand at this early age but it’s seeping into their consciousness.”

He added, “But the most important thing for us is to make sure we carve out time for them, that we get group time and one on one time because it’s our responsibility to show them around and help shape them. So I guess the only thing I can say is that it’s fatherhood first, family first, and then I slip in the work.”

Brad, who is currently World War Z in the UK, thinks the nomadic lifestyle is beneficial to the children.

He said, “It works for us. The family becomes the core. The places they get to see they may not understand at this early age but it’s seeping into their consciousness. We’re in an international schooling program, so wherever you go, it’s the same curriculum.”

These quotes from Brad are lifted from a 2009 interview. He was promoting The Curious Case of Benjamin Button.

“We’re a very nomadic family, and it works for us,” says Pitt. “The value of it is that the family becomes the core, and the kids may not understand the places they see at this early age, but I know it’s seeping into their consciousness. We move quite well, and I don’t think it’s taking its toll. We have to think about schooling, though, and we’re in an international programme, so wherever we go it’s the same curriculum.” ”

Great family. The Jolie-Pitt is – justr like Brad says – a normal family wiht father, mother and a bunch of kids no matter how haunted they are. They try to spend as normal a life as it´s possible. Brad was meant to be a father and now he has what he wanted more than anything else in this world: a family. He´s told that his own mum used to go from room to room and talk to Brad and his siblings when they were small. Now it seems he´s continuing that tradition himself. He is just a normal dad with all the joys and sorrows that being a parent brings. No matter what the h8ters say the JP kids hopefully will be balanced teenagers and adults when they grow up.
