Gillian Anderson doesn’t know why she keeps getting cast in bossy roles. The actress admits it took time to get used to her character in Johnny English Reborn because she is not strict with her kids Piper, 17, Oscar, 4, and Felix, 2.
Speaking at a London press conference for the movie she says, “I don’t know why I keep being cast as everybody’s boss because if you saw me in my real life, in my black jeans and my flip-flops running around a playground with my kids I’m very different. I keep being cast in these roles and it cracks me up! That in and of itself is funny enough for me to say, ‘Yes, why not, I’ll show you!’ ”
The 43-year-old explained more about her role stating, “Everybody keeps bringing up Dame Judi Dench as M, it’s an obvious parallel to a degree. But I need to actually go back and watch that because I haven’t got a clue if I am, in my subconscious memory, copying her.”
Gillian was once asked what was her most treasured possession. She replied, “My children – Piper, Oscar and Felix. Obviously I do not possess them, but saying anything else would seem plain wrong.”
