Kristin Davis Adopts Daughter Gemma Rose

Congratulations to Kristin Davis! Her rep confirms that the Sex and the City star welcomed a baby girl two months ago through domestic adoption. Her daughter's name is Gemma Rose Davis.

A source tells US Weekly, "She's ecstatic. She wanted this for a long time."

Adoption has been on the mind of the actress for quite awhile now.

Back in May 2010, she told Access Hollywood, "You have to obviously think it through. Best case scenario, you're obviously raising it with a father. It does give me pause to think about doing it alone. I feel like it's a really hard job."

Yay so happy for Kristen. Love adoption stories. Also cool that she named her daughter Gemma. I have a 9 month old called Gemma Leigh :-)

Is it with Russell James? Because last I heard she was with him. Either way I so happy for her.

the article says she adopted and did not give birth

I love the name Gemma, it's one of my favourite names! Like the poster above said about spelling it with a 'J', I think it makes more sense with a 'J' and spelling with with a 'G', the child could get teased by other kids who purposely mispronounce it. But I've never seen it spelled with a 'J' and I would spell it with a 'G' if I used it.

Gemma with a G is the correct spelling though.

Congrats to Kristen!!

Come on, you don't expect people here to actually read, do you?

Too bad their is no father.......I know I will get slammed but I feel sorry for children who don't have 2 parents. It is my opinion.
