Courtney Love Regrets Not Being A Better Mother To Frances

Courtney Love and daughter Frances Bean – her daughter with late Nirvana singer Kurt Cobain – have been estranged since 2009 when the now 19-year-old moved out of her mother's home to be cared for by Kurt's family. The singer says if she had been a better mother she and her only child would never have parted ways.

Referring to the fact that Frances was not able to read until she was seven, Courtney says, "It was my fault. I never read to her. Why didn't I ever take her to a Broadway show? She f***ing loved those Broadway musicals!"

"All I can feel is how much I love her. I'd give anything to hear the sound of her heels walking down the hall past my bedroom," the former Hole frontwoman says regretfully.

"I swore I'd never be like my mother but I'm just the same. She threw it all away and I threw it all away."

It's nice to hear that she recognise she has make mistakes as a mother and she is willing to restore their ralationship.

There's no telling whether her daughter is willing to restore their relationship. Honestly, after all the crap her mother put her through, why would she want to?

At some point her daughter may be able to leave the past in the past and maybe they can move forward. My mom sure didn't raise me the way I wish she had. But she is a different person now, she loves me, I love her, and we make it work. I hope they don't stay apart for the rest of their lives.

you should have figured that out a long time ago bitch.

The fact Courtney was dipping her fingers into Frances' trust fund left to her by her father probably ensures a permanent estrangement. That is a huge betrayal when a parent steals from you. I can't see why anyone would encourage a reunion between this whacko and her lovely daughter. I'm sure Frances can move on from this.

Courtney needs therapy and rehab and just healing. Maybe if that all happens there is room for reconciliation. It's not enough to feel remorse though. She has be ready and able to make real change, permanent change. I hope she does so, both for herself and her daughter.

I will never have any respect for this woman. She is truly the scum of the universe, and at the very least partially (if not fully) responsible for Kurt Cobain's death...maybe Frances realised that for herself.
