Hugh Jackman’s Toughest Critic: Daughter Ava

Hugh Jackman's Toughest Critic: Daughter Ava

Talk about a tough crowd! Hugh Jackman is used to getting some negative feedback when it comes to his work, but the Hollywood actor-turned-Broadway star wasn’t necessarily prepared to face such harsh critiques in his own home!

“About a week ago [my kids] came on a Sunday matinee. I said, ‘Guys, look, you can be honest with me. Do you like the show?’” Jackman tells Anderson Cooper Friday (November 18) on the CNN anchor’s daytime show. “My [11-year-old] son Oscar says, ‘I really like it.’ I was touched. My daughter said, ‘I find it a little boring.’”

She may find it a tad dull, but there’s at least one part of Jackman’s show, Hugh Jackman: Back on Broadway, that has 6-year-old Ava jumping out of her seat…literally.

“My daughter, oh my God. I sing a song for my wife [Deborra-Lee] in the show and sometimes I go out to the crowd,” Hugh explains. “My daughter literally hides under the seat in front. She dies.”

Oh, well. You can’t please ‘em all!

As lucky as Ava is to have 2 loving parents, I think they actually are the lucky ones! In every picture I see of Ava, she is absolutely hysterical! What a huge personality and she seems loads of fun to be around.
