It may have been difficult documenting four concerts for her Live at Roseland DVD, but mom-to-be Beyoncé Knowles hopes that it’ll all be worth it when her child with husband Jay-Z is one day be able to see the film herself.
“[I hope he or she will say] ‘I can’t believe I was in that belly!” Knowles told reporters at Sunday’s (November 20) advance screening of the documentary at the Paris Theater in New York City.
Of course, at the time the Live at Roseland was being filmed, Beyoncé’s pregnancy was still a very big secret; one that she thought concert-goers would figure out as soon as they saw her.
“The whole time I definitely was thinking, ‘Everyone knows, everyone can see,” Bey revealed, explaining that she chose the intimate settings for those four concerts, knowing it would be the last time this year that she’d be performing songs from her latest album for her fans.
But these performances proved to be much more taxing on Beyoncé than she expected.
“When you’re pregnant, it’s a little bit harder to breathe, so it was hard doing all the choreography and singing at the same time,” said Knowles.
Live at Roseland will be available exclusively at Walmart, starting this week.
