Siblings Bindi and Bob Irwin were among the famous faces on the red carpet at yesterday’s Puss in Boots premiere at the Hoyts Entertainment Quarter in Sydney, Australia (November 27). They were joined by the film’s stars Antonio Banderas and Salma Hayek, among others.
In a recent interview with Aussie newspaper the Herald Sun, 13-year-old Bindi opens up about the death of her father Steve Irwin, aka the Crocodile Hunter, in 2007.
My Dad was such an incredible person, and you have the option of just curling up in a dark corner and letting it all go or you have the option of standing strong, sticking together and carrying on what he lived and died for. And I think that’s what’s so important – to be able to carry on where he left off. When someone like that comes along and leaves such a huge footprint and imprint, you can’t just let that die. You have to continue.”
Bindi has big plans for the future: Along with almost a dozen TV and media projects in the works, she says she’s determined to raise awareness on issues surrounding climate change and sustainability – and even has her eye on a career in politics.View Slideshow »»
