Mindy McCready's Rep: It's Not Appropriate To Focus On The Twins Yet

When it was first reported that Mindy McCready and her 5-year-old son, Zander had gone missing, the last thing we expected to hear was that the troubled country singer was pregnant – and with twins! But now that the news has gone public and Mindy has made it clear that she and Zander are both safe, a rep for the star says that her pregnancy shouldn’t be the focus.

“She and the father have been enjoying the pregnancy out of the spotlight,” the rep tells People.

Although they are excited about the baby news, they would like to [keep it] private at this time as much as they can.”

McCready’s pregnancy was revealed after a judge ordered her to return her son to her father’s home in Cape Coral, Florida on Wednesday (November 30).

Right now, this matter is priority number one for Mindy, who says, “I am working with lawyers to try to get all this straightened out. … I did not steal my child, as it it would be impossible for me to kidnap what already belongs to me! There never was any missing persons report and never an Amber Alert.”

“Until all of the dust settles, it’s not appropriate to focus on the twins,” adds the rep.

Mindy’s spokesperson remained mum about the identity of the twins’ father, but it’s reported that the singer confirmed to the New York Daily News that the dad is music producer David Wilson, her beau of two years.

Yeah, first we have to focus on the crazy. Sad for those babies already.

No one would have even known about the twins if she hadn’t announced it yesterday.

Good for Mindy, my FIL’s wife hit my 5yr old child over several days during a visit w/his grandfather out of state. My husband did talk me out of going there and filing child cruelty charges. In 12 yrs, we have never visited them again. Abuse is prevalent…Penn State is a wake up call- don’t trust anyone…protect your children….no one else will.
