Paris Jackson: I Love Acting!

Getting set to make her big screen debut in the fantasy film Lundon’ Bridge and the Three Keys, 13-year-old Paris Jackson says she has her sights set on an acting career.

“I love acting,” Paris told Ellen DeGeneres this week, adding that she was inspired by her dad Michael Jackson. “When I was really little my Dad was in the movie Moonwalker, and I knew he could sing really well, but I didn’t know he could act. I saw that and I said, ‘Wow, I want to be just like him.’”

She reveals that she and her multi-talented dad used to “improv together,” saying, “He would go ‘OK, in this scene, you’re going to cry.’ And I’d cry on the spot!”

Though Paris has happy memories of growing up with Michael, who passed away in 2009, she admits there were things she didn’t enjoy – like when she and her brothers Prince and Blanket had to wear masks when they went out.

“I [was] like ‘This is stupid why am I wearing a mask?’ But I kind of realized the older I got like he only tried to protect us and he’d explain that to us too.”

Paris says that she still holds her father’s advice close to her heart: “He said, if I die tomorrow always remember what I told you,” she recalls. “I took his advice and I remembered everything he told me.”

Paris is a very smart young lady. I bet she made a lot of parents smile when she talked about how she thought the masks were dumb but grew to understand they were about protecting her and her brothers. I think every kid thinks something their parent does to protect them is stupid at one time or another, but they grow to understand that their parents were only wanting to protect them.
