Celebrity Moms Jennie Garth & Melissa Rycroft Land Reality Shows

Is there room for any more celebrity moms on reality TV? Apparently CMT thinks so. While not particularly “country,” both former Beverly Hills, 90210 star Jennie Garth and Melissa Rycroft of The Bachelor have landed reality shows on the country music-oriented cable network.

And while one show will document one family’s move to escape the pressures of Hollywood, another will showcase a mom’s journey as she chases stardom.

Jennie will star in I Love Jennie along with her husband (and Twilight star) Peter Facinelli and their three daughters – Luca, 14, Lola, 9, and Fiona, 5. The show will document the family’s move from Los Angeles to central California where they’ll settle into a country lifestyle, away from the pressures of Hollywood.

Melissa and Tye: A New Reality will star the former Bachelorette and her husband Tye Strickland along with baby daughter Ava Grace. In the show Melissa will attempt to manage a long-distance relationship with Tye while pursuing a career in Tinsletown.

I had heard rumblings that jennie and peter were considering a split, so i hope this means they’re working things out. They seem like such down-to-earth and good people. I wish them the best. I’d definitely tune in to see them and those adorable girls of theirs! :)

Oh goody just what we need! More ridiculous reality shows.

I was actually very surprised when I saw that Jennie and Peter were doing a reality show. I never would’ve thought, that just seems so beneath them. Not to mention that the subject of their show is a total contradiction.

As far as Melissa goes, it was just a matter of time. Her fifteen minutes of fame may have finally begun to wane after 5 years and she just had to keep it going.

Nothing like escaping the pressures of Hollywood when the show you were on was over 10 years ago and running away to the country with a film crew.

I can’t wait to set my DVR to the show about an old contestant from The Bachelor, I cannot wait to see what she has been up to.
