Kate Beckinsale says she’s not sure if she’s going to have any more children. The actress, who already has a 12-year-old daughter named Lily, is cautious even though her husband Len Wiseman is for it.
She explains, “I’m not 100 per cent sure [I’ll have more kids]. I’ve had tragedy after tragedy with friends who have miscarried, so I feel for them when I’m asked this. Lily is very against it; Len is quite for it. I’d love it if Len could have the pregnancy, because I don’t feel great when I’m pregnant. So we need to figure that out!”
The Underworld star also says that she rather spend more time with her daughter than be consumed with L.A. life.
She hates anything to do with fingernails, so she won’t go with me. There was a brief period, when she was about five, when she thought it was quite cool. But now, forget it.”
Grateful to be living in Hollywood with a good marriage she adds, “I do feel a lot of it is luck, in that you find someone who’s a good fit for you. I met Len when we were both 29. You grow up through your 30s and hopefully you’ll grow in the right direction [together]. I think it’s quite difficult otherwise. And your 20s are just impossible - I don’t know how anyone makes it through their 20s with the same person.”
As for Lily staying in touch with her dad Michael Sheen, it’s all amicable.
She said, “She’s used to him being gone for a long time. Michael has worked a lot since she was born; in the first year of her life, he was away for six or seven months. When he comes back to the US, we don’t have a formal arrangement. He just calls and says, ‘Can I pick her up on Tuesday?’ “
