Actor Nicolas Cage, who famously named his son after Superman, is now sharing his love of comic book heroes with 6-year-old Kal-El. The 47-year-old Ghost Rider star took his son to see Spider-Man: Turn Off the Dark, on Broadway.
Backstage, after the show, Cage’s son told actor Reeve Carney, who plays the part of Spider-Man in the New York City production, that he wanted to “fly” with him, but had unfortunately come ill-prepared.
According to the New York Post, the youngster told Reeve:
I’m Kal-El. This is my dad. I was named after Superman. I’d fly with you, but I don’t have my cape.
Nicolas Cage, who recently sold a rare Superman comic for over $2.1 million, is also dad to son Weston, 21 next week, with ex-girlfriend Christina Fulton. Kal’s mother is Cage’s third wife, Alice Kim.
