Nick Cannon Is Hospitalized After Suffering Mild Kidney Failure

Our thoughts are with the Carey-Cannon household.

This morning (January 4), Mariah Carey revealed to the world that her hubby Nick Cannon was admitted to the hospital a few days earlier after he suffered mild kidney failure over the holidays. The family-of-four were spending Christmas in Aspen, Colorado but their seasonal getaway took a turn for the worst when one of Nick's kidneys failed and he was rushed to the hospital.

The five time Grammy Award-winning singer took to Twitter to announce the news to her 5 million followers, posting a picture of herself lying in bed with her recovering hubby and the caption:

Please pray for Nick as he's fighting to recover from a mild kidney failure. #mybraveman http://pic.twitter.com/ZtH2kIOV"

Mariah also made this post to her official website:

“This is us in the hospital - role reversal; Last year it was me attached to the machines (after having dembabies) and Nick was there with me through it, and now here we are. We're trying to be as festive as possible under the circumstances but please keep Nick in your thoughts because this is very painful. They tried to kick me out of the hospital but here I am pon de bed with Mr. C."

“We're doing OK but we're 'straaaaaanded in Aspen'. #DramaticDivaPlace (I know, we could be in a lot worse places) but the truth is as long as we're together, we're OK," she adds. "I'm not trying to make light out of the situation because it's a serious moment that's very tough on all of us so please keep us and our family in your prayers. LYM.”

Mariah and Nick are parents to 8-month-old twins Moroccan and Monroe.

She does sound a bit dramatic as always, but I know for a fact that kidney failure is one of the MOST PAINFUL things ever. Doctors compare the intensity of the pain to childbirth. Stay strong Nick!

Really? I'm a nurse and I've never seen anyone in kidney failure have any pain from it. I'd like to know what 'doctor' you were talking to.

I think Annie123 might have been thinking about kidney stones. I've heard the same thing.

Oh you were right, I meant kidney stones! Maybe that's not what he had indeed, my bad.

Courtney said:

oh please Annie being a worried spouse isn't being dramatic and it's already been confirmed that Nick isn't suffering from kidney faillure but altitude induced dehydration and will be out of the hospital later tonight.

Where did you read that? Celebuzz has just released a story and it doesn't mention that at all.

Why on earth would they take a picture of him in a hospital bed? They are always looking for attention!

My thoughts exactly. And why is he wearing a hat in bed?

I had no idea Nick Cannon was a celebrity child. I mean, why else is this featured here?

It really funny how some people don't like or find a article interesting stop to read then make negative comment, why not keep it moving with your negative comments geeze find another article you like or maybe yawl just like to scam with negativity!

There is no such thing as "mild" kidney failure. She clearly doesn't know what she's talking about.

Such negativity - Mariah is not a doctor and neither are you. If it was my husband I'd be worried sick. Go to another site if you have no empathy for another human being in pain. The kidneys are involved - that is serious enough.

Mariah's not very bright. She also has a habit of making anything and everything about her.
