Brad Pitt Explains The Cane: I Slipped Carrying My Daughter

First talks of retirement, now a cane…. What’s going on with Brad Pitt?! No, it’s not old age, the Moneyball star explains that his new accessory isn’t a fashion statement, but a necessity after a recent injury he sustained trying to protect his 3-year-old daughter, Vivienne.

“I was carrying my daughter down the hill and I slipped,” Pitt, 48, told reporters at Saturday’s (January 7) 23rd International Palm Springs Film Festival. “It was either her or me.”

“Vivie’s okay,” says Pitt’s longtime love, Angelina Jolie, who admits that she’s a fan of the cane.

“I like the cane,” said Angie, adding that the injury hasn’t slowed Brad down at all. “He’s not that kind of guy. He does everything still.”

This isn’t the first time that Brad or Angelina has gotten hurt protecting one of their children though.

“I think all parents get injured in the line of fire,” says Jolie. “When Maddox was young, I fell and hurt my elbow. It’s a pretty common occurrence.”

Even more common with six kids!

glad Vivienne’s okay and hopefully brad recovers soon.

anyone else find that outfit that angelina’s wearing suspicious? like maybe she’s trying to hide a pregnancy or something.

When I was young my friends mom fell down the steps carrying her brother who was just about a year old at the time. The baby broke his leg. Then about a week or so later they smelled something nasty coming from his leg and they took him to the ER and here the cast was so tight on his foot it was digging into his skin causing an open sore!! Poor kid had to have it off and re-put on again! That’s why when I see these mothers with such high heels carrying their babies it makes me cringe! Even though I guess it could happen barefoot too!
