It’s only been a week since his mild kidney failure, but Nick Cannon is back on the mend, and already stepping out on the town; for a special occasion, of course.
People reports that Cannon and son, Moroccan, now 8-months-old, took to the stage at Saturday’s (January 14) 2012 BET Honors to present Mariah Carey with the Entertainer Award, and celebrate the “angel” who’s been by his side through thick and thin.
“When times are hard, you guys don’t see her at 3 o’clock in the morning, getting up in the middle of the night, fixing me soup when my kidneys ain’t acting right. Mariah Carey does that,” Cannon gushed.
“It is truly, truly a blessing to be here tonight, and I am humbled and in awe of everyone’s presence, but mostly my hero right there,” he continued, pointing toward Mariah, 42, who sat in the audience.
“To my incredible husband who [has been] out of the hospital two days – look at him all strong and healthy and big and too buff for the tux — it’s incredible,” said Carey upon accepting her award.
Cannon, feeling much better since his recent hospitalization, even did a little beatboxing on stage for little Roc.
“This is what makes Roc the most happy,” the proud mama explained. “And Miss Monroe Cannon‘s backstage, darling. We were both sewn into our dresses, so she couldn’t make it out.”
“She’s a diva like her mama,” Cannon quipped.
The 2012 BET Honors airs February 13 at 9|8c on BET.
