The Smith boys are heading back to the big screen together! Oscar-nominated actor Will Smith and his 13-year-old son, Jaden, have been tapped to co-star in M. Night Shyamalan‘s latest project, the post-apocalyptic sci-fi film, 1000 A.E.
According to a late night tweet from the director himself, the crew is en route to Costa Rica to prep for shooting, which will begin on February 6th with an anticipated release date of June 2013.
Referred to as Shyamalan’s “dream project,” 1000 A.E. is the story of a father and son (played by Will and Jaden) who crash-land on an uninhabitable Earth. In the coming-of-age tale, Jaden’s character – considered a failure by his estranged father – must navigate through the land to save them both.
Currently working on a number of other film projects individually, this is the second time that Will and Jaden have teamed up on-screen.
In 2006, Jaden made his big screen debut playing alongside his father in The Pursuit of Happyness, for which Will was nominated for an Academy Award.

It may be time to teach Jaden the fake celebrity meets fan smile.
