Actress Gwyneth Paltrow made a memorable fashion statement at last weekend’s Academy Awards, topping off her white dress with a floor-length cape. The inspiration behind the star’s stunning Oscar night style? Jackie Onassis… and Gwyneth’s 7-year-old daughter Apple!
“I tried on one dress. That was the dress and I thought, ‘it’s a little different but it’s sort of a throwback,’” Gwyneth explained on her friend Mario Batali’s new show The Chew. “I saw a pic of Jackie O in a white dress with a cape and it’s been a while since anyone’s worn a cape, frankly, except for Superman.”
Though the mom-of-two says that designer Tom Ford styled her look, she’s quick to add that her daughter Apple had a say in it as well!
“My daughter loves a fashion moment,” she reveals. “She weighs in very heavily.”
Gwyneth and her husband Chris Martin are also parents to son Moses, who turns 6 next month.
