Nick & Vanessa Lachey Expecting Baby No. 1!

Nick & Vanessa Lachey Expecting Baby No. 1!

Congratulations are officially in order for expectant parents Nick and Vanessa Lachey!

During his co-hosting duties on Live! with Kelly this morning, the ESPN host confirmed rumors that he and his wife of almost a year are expecting their first child.

Revealing that Vanessa is “due in late summer, early fall,” the dad-to-be said that she “started to feel a little different, not herself” in January: “She was in New York and I was in the Bahamas. She went to the store and got a pregnancy test and it came back positive. We’re having a baby!”

Nick, who’s talked in the past about wanting a big family, could barely contain his excitement about the baby on the way: “I’ve had a chance to do a lot of great things in my career and my life but this is the one thing that, more than any other, I look forward to. The fact that it’s actually here, it’s overwhelming.”

The couple plan to find out the gender of the baby soon and have already started picking out baby names.

“If it’s a girl, I think it might be Sophia. If it’s a boy, I’m not sure,” he mused.

Congratulations to them on the big news!

    That means she’s due mid-September (I read she’s about 12 weeks along).
