Sex and the City alum Cynthia Nixon was photographed on a chilly morning in New York City yesterday (March 5) with her son Charles, 9.
The actress was bundled up to brave the cold weather in a patterned knit hat, blue jacket and a gray scarf. Charles looked warm and cozy inside his hooded orange jacket as he munched on a piece of jellied toast.
The 45-year-old actress – who recently shaved her head to embody the cancer-stricken Professor Vivian Bearing in the Broadway revival of Margaret Edson’s Wit – opened up to Broadway.com about raising her children.
“I am very, very privileged because Max has two moms, and one of them is a stay-at-home mom,” Cynthia reveals about raising her 1-year-old son with partner Christine Marinoni. “When I am running around or at my show, I know that he is with a babysitter, but more likely he’s with his other mom. There’s a great level of comfort about that.”
As far as following in their famous mother’s Hollywood footsteps, Cynthia states that so far, no one has expressed any such interest.
Oh, no! [Charles Ezekiel] is very much a natural performer, but he talks about soccer, chess and zombies. [If they did want to pursue acting], I would do anything I can to help them, but I would say, “Make sure you have a backup. Make sure you go to college. I want you to have a life that’s rich and full, and it’s hard if you are an actor and you’re constantly pounding the pavement not getting cast. That’s a really tough existence.”
The 45-year-old actress and her fiancée are moms Max. Charles and 16-year-old daughter Samantha are Cynthia’s children with ex, Danny Mozes.View Slideshow »»
