Bobbi Kristina: "I'm Doing As Good As I Possibly Can"

Whitney Houston‘s daughter, Bobbi Kristina Brown, told Oprah Winfrey her late mother was her “everything,” and that her grief “comes in waves” following the singer’s death last month.

I’m doing as good as I possibly can at this point. I’m just trying to keep going,” the 19-year-old told the talk show queen on Oprah’s Next Chapter. “I can sing her music, but to hear it now, I can’t. I can hear her voice telling me, ‘Keep moving, baby. I got you.’ She’s always with me. I can always feel her with me. She used to always say, ‘Do you need me?’ And I said, ‘I always need you.’”

“She’s always with me,” Bobbi Kristina, the sole heiress to Whitney’s fortune, told Oprah of her late mother. “Her spirit is strong, it’s a strong spirit. I can hear her voice in spirit talking to me — ‘I’m right here, I’ve got you’ — I can always feel her with me. I feel her pass through me all the time.

Bobbi Kristina admitted it’s been a difficult process.

It comes in waves: One moment I can be happy and laughing, but then it comes over me,” Bobbi Kristina told Oprah. “Sometimes, it’s so surreal. I still walk into the house like, ‘Mom?’ But I’ve accepted it.”

She went on to describe her last hours with her mother.

“The very last day, it was so early in the morning I went to go and get her I was like, ‘Will you come and lay down with me?’” she recalled. “She was rubbing my head, and I slept in her arms all day and all night long.”

Bobbi Kristina said she hopes “to carry on the legacy” through her own singing and acting career. “I still have a voice – yeah we are going to do the singing thing, we are going to do the singing and the acting,” she said. “It’s a lot of pressure, but she prepared me for it.”

Reportedly, the troubled teen is hoping to change her last name from Brown to Houston. TMZ reports that Bobbi wanted to change her name for several years, but her mother would let her. Bobbi’s father is troubled singer, Bobby Brown.

    Ugh.
One’s a fame whore willing to milk someone’s tragedy for ratings.
And the other is a fame whore willing to milk the death of her mother for publicity.

      My sentiments exactly…

and the poor thing, got none of her mother’s looks and probably not her talent either, it’ll be another “celebrity” getting famous because of their name.

Look at the overwhelming sympathy you perfect mothers are showing. Hope your children don’t inherit that trait.

I have TONS of sympathy for this girl, she just lost her mother (and by all accounts, the person she was closest to in the world).

The minute she goes on OPRAH though? No, sorry. That’s ridiculous and unless you can give me one good reason she has to mourn on freaking television, my sympathy goes right out the window.

Dear heart needs to find her way, she has her own unique path as we all do.\
IT is quite apparent at 19 years old regarding her vocals, it is not her mothers path. She clearly does not follow that path and its OK Whitney is a legacy Bobbi Kristina is a product of Whitney and Bobby Brown… Her genetic makeup is different..
She will find her own way and answer to God.
