Bad news for Nadya ‘Octomom‘ Suleman!

The 36-year-old mother-of-14 has filed for Chapter 7 bankruptcy protection, listing a mere $50,000 in assets against up to $1 million in debts, according to papers filed April 27, E! News reports.

I have had to make some very difficult decisions the year and filing Chapter 7 was one of them,” she says. “But I have to do what is best for my children and I need a fresh start.”

The mom of multiples – who recently stripped down for Britain’s Closer magazine for $8,000 – names her creditors as Amir Haddadin (who owns her La Hambra home), Orkin Pest Control, Kaiser Permanete, the DMV, Sparkletts Bottled Water, Verizon Wireless, DirecTV and Sylvan Learning Center.

The bankruptcy news comes days after the recent controversy that ensued after photos of her “filthy” California home were leaked online, resulting in a visit from police and Orange County Social Services.

When she opened up about posing nude last month, Nadya said, “I have to do what I have to do to take care of my family, and I’m not ashamed. I’m not ashamed at all … I’ve never sacrificed my morals and values.”

I wonder how much her welfare checks and food assistance add up to each month for 14 children?? Probably twice as much as I take home from my JOB. I just love paying 38% income tax so that I can support morons like this.

She is really brainless to have 14 kids. Now these poor kids have to suffer because of her.

Ugh…she makes me mad. 520 on hair cuts when you could be cutting your boys hair at home and finding other ways to cut cost. Learn to live off your means and stop taking the system for granted.

I live In Europe and it is really breaks my heart to read about the difficulties this mother of 14 kids has. I do not want to name my country, but in my country if you have five or more children the government provides you with a free condo (or house) and a new minivan – both free of charge and under your full ownership. Why in the US there are such draconian conditions for the needy moms? At the end it is kids who suffer the most.

maybe because our government officials need such huge salaries, we spend billions of dollars building other nations and fighting their wars, while our country falls apart, our children go hungry and parents everywhere are losing their jobs and homes

hey European Knucklehead, do they provide free labatomies to women who already have six special needs children and get 8 more embryos implanted while being unemployed as well? because in my math that adds up to just plain dumb which the general public shouldn’t have to support other people’s ignorance. I think you may be missing a couple of the details, but I’m sorry, that is just a really dumb comment. I am a single mother of two and work my ass off to support those two. i would never, NEVER even dream of having more kids because I want them to have the best life possible. she is mentally deranged to think she could give enough attention to the kids let alone provide for them.

Please understand NO ONE in USA wants any child to suffer hence the fact that she is receiving government assistance in spite of fact she had a large income in past and just blew it wastefully instead of thinking ahead of who she would support all those kids. This woman made a very irresponsible choice (with her doctor’s help) to conceive 8 children (without hubby, or job) using money she received from government college loans. This whole situation is a real mess. Unforunately, at this point the best thing that could happen for kids is for them to go to foster care. sad but maybe true.

Why won’t you name your country that just seems odd, what are you hiding or are you.

why should the government pay for your disesion to have all these kids you can’t afford. She couldnt afford the 8 kids she had but yet she still disided to have more in hopes to get a TV show.

The fact that you wouldn’t name your country make me think what your saying is ether BS or their is more to it then just giving away free stuff and it’s not as simple as you make it sound, and you don’t want anyone to check up on what you are saying and call you out on it.

Because in America we actually believe in taking responsibility for our actions!
When the citizens of your country (if they have not already), start causing upheaval & violence because the government isn’t “giving” them everything they believe they are ” entitled” to-I bet you won’t be so eager to praise your “free” minivans!…. Because NOTHING is FREE!

Because then there would be a whole lot of people taking advantage of the free give-away, having half a dozen kids so they could get the free condo and minivan. That doesn’t sound like a good idea at all.

Horrible idea is right! The money doesn’t come from the government. It comes from the tax payers. Have you ever had a $500 Brazillian blowout? And why not? Because you have priorities, that’s why. This moron has 14 kids and no income. She treats her money like it is FREE because it is. Now we get to pay for her million dollar bankruptcy. Why not throw in a free house and mini van while we’re at it. Give me a effing break.

To the Anonymous living in Europe – we do have such a system, assuming your country only provides housing and transportation to needy folks. Here it’s called public housing and the bus. You just don’t get to own what you don’t pay for. Can’t say I’m surprised that Octomom couldn’t afford 14 kids, since she has no steady income.

I’m not too familiar with how this part of our legal system works but what has to happen before those children are removed and put into a safer, healthier environment if only temporarily?
Nadya is single mother of 14, unemployed, bankrupt, appears to be living in far less than stellar conditions, and doesn’t seem to know a thing about responsibly handling money. I would think that in the eyes of Child Protective Services all of those things added up wouldn’t look too good.
I’ve read where they visited her house and decided that the children were fine and there was nothing they could do. I found that a little surprising. That whole situation just sounds terrible for 14 young children.

Your correct, CPS should be involved. However I would venture to guess that CPS knows that they don’t have enough families willing to take on all of those special needs kiddos…nevermind finding one family to keep the kids together. I think in the CPS world its coming donw to that the State isn’t able to pull these kiddos and put them in any more stable enviroment. If they went to foster care, I think they would be bounced around from house to house, which would be worse than living with their mother.
At the very least these kids are in an enviroment they are used too, and special needs kids require that consistancy (regardless of how poor the conditions are). Also keep in mind, mis-managing money isn’t a legal reason to remove children. At a bare minimum level, the kids are taken care of. CPS is more likely to get involved if her children are being physically abused.
She has made some outrageously poor decisions, however maybe efforts should be focused on rehabilitating her know how to care for her own children/money/life instead of trying to rid her of her poor decisions.
She did what she did and we can’t change that, but we can help change the outcome.

It is what it is. To sit here and put her down, or say how awful she is, doesnt make any of us look any better. Hopefully for the childrens’ sake things turn out ok. I’m pretty sure we have all made some bad choices along the way.

it is what t is????? really? guess what? it’s getting worse by the minute. mommy dearest is now doing porn for the kiddies whilst another nanny takes care of them. I truly believe they would be much much better off being split up and raised under somewhat normal circumstances. mark my words. the girls will all be pregnant by 14 and all of them are going to have some major drug problems and relationship issues. they don’t stand a chance with that idiot for a mother. I have never seen a picture of these porr kids where they smile or look content, leave alone happy!!!
