Zoe Saldana: “A Child Makes Perfect Sense To Me”

It looks like Zoe Saldana has babies on the brain.

“I’m Latin! We start young, honey!” the 33-year-old Avatar actress says on Lifetime’s The Conversation With Amanda de Cadenet. “At 22 you’re like, ‘I just wanna hold something!’ You want a little critter.”

Although Zoe and her former fiancé Keith Britton, 35, ended their 11-year relationship last November, the Star Trek star reveals that pair had previously discussed starting a family one day.

“For years he wasn’t ready,” Zoe explains. “Then when he got ready, I didn’t have time. I never held anything off because I was waiting for something to kick in. I don’t think that far about tomorrow.”

“I felt the urge to want to have a baby, and I wanted to, but I remember that respecting his decision — and making the decision to wait with him — was one of the most mature things,” she continues. “I chose to wait and I’m glad I did. I’m glad that I respected him.”

Even though Zoe is currently single – she recently split from her boyfriend of three months Bradley Cooper, 37 – she still admits she wants at least “two or three” kids one day.

“Or four or five! I don’t care. They’re just so delicious.”

I love the anxiety, the pressure of the loud room full of yapping kids. But I’m a kid myself. I get along very well with animals and children. I dig them, I get them. They make perfect sense to me. A child makes perfect sense to me. A child speaks more sense than an adult half of the time.”

I’m not sure where she’s coming from with the statement that women in their early twenties want children because they “want to hold something.” At 21 years old, all I want is my career and to have fun in the meantime, kids can wait til at least 34.

She seems to be so immature to have a child. She does have NO idea what load of work it is

She doesn’t look Latin at all! But if she wants a child she should go to the Dominican Republic to adopt because they have millions of children in that poverty stricken country without parents.

What does a Latina look like? What does an American look like? And, I am sure she knows about children in the DR seeing as how she is from there. If she wants to adopt, give birth or not have children at all. Who cares?! It’s her life and body she can do what she wants.
