On January 7, the Bootylicious singer and her husband, R&B superstar Jay-Z, welcomed daughter Blue Ivy. At a charity event in New York City Wednesday, proud grandma Tina Knowles opened up to Us Weekly about the Knowles’ big weekend plans.

[We're] all going to be together,” Knowles said. “We’re excited because it’s Beyoncé’s first Mother’s Day.” She added, “I’m hoping to cook! I want to cook. My traditional soul food and maybe gumbo. That’s my favorite dish!”

Knowles also spoke about her daughter’s breathtaking Met Gala appearance Monday evening.

“She looked amazing,” Knowles said of her daughter’s lacy, Givenchy Haute Couture gown. “I think she looked absolutely amazing.”

“I definitely want to have more [kids],” Beyoncé revealed at the event. “I don’t know how many. God knows. I don’t know yet.” The new mom added, “I feel like now I know the reason that I was born.”

I couldn’t agree more about her last comment! Having my daughter gave me a sense of purpose I never knew I needed. Blue Ivy was born just a couple weeks after my daughter, and she’s our first baby too – so I feel like I can relate to Beyonce in certain ways. :) It’s definitely a magical time!

I admire this woman she never spouts anything negative and it appears that she has her priorities in perspective.
