Reese Witherspoon’s Private Tennis Lesson

Reese Witherspoon's Private Tennis Lesson

Back home in Los Angeles after a quick trip to Nashville supporting her mother, Academy Award-winning actress Reese Witherspoon is staying focussed on her children and staying healthy.

After picking up her two kids – daughter Ava, 12, and son Deacon, 8 – from school, the Legally Blonde star took a tennis lesson at the private Brentwood Country Club along with some pals.

“Reese was in a good mood,” a source tells PEOPLE. “She was laughing with her girlfriends. They were all on the same side of the court and had tennis balls served at them by a trainer. It just seemed like a casual and relaxing practice game.”

The recent pics show a “cute” and blooming Reese.

Reese’s baby bump is getting bigger, and she looked very cute,” the source adds.

The source says Reese works out with a trainer, focussing on strength training. The Walk the Line star has also been spotted jogging and hiking near her Brentwood home.

This is Reese’s first child with husband Jim Toth. She shares Ava and Deacon with ex-husband Ryan Phillippe.

This is creepy to me. I live in Reese’s neighborhood (Brentwood), and that country club is very much closed off and private. I wonder how the paps got on the private property…it’s a shame that even somewhere she would think that she could be private, she’s not.

I don’t have children so I have no idea. Is it safe to play sports, especially ones where a fast moving ball could hit your stomach, safe?

No, most women are advised not to leave the house and to remain inside of a bubble so that no harm will ever come to the unborn child.

You didn’t have to be sarcastic. It was an honest question from someone who didn’t know if it was safe to play tennis while pregnant. How rude. Why are people online always so rude about the smallest things?

Honestly, I think tennis would be relatively safe. People can play tennis in a pretty relaxed way, with the ball just being “lobbed” from side to side. I highly doubt anyone was hitting a ball towards her with very much speed behind it. :)

A big impact to the abdomen could be dangerous, but it would take something on the order of a hard kick to the stomach or a woman falling down very, very hard on top of her belly. That’s why they say no downhill skiing. (Cross-country is okay.) The baby is actually very well protected in there. It’s old-fashioned medical advice to tell women to “take it easy” and nowadays the medical community is generally telling people that they should stay as active as possible during pregnancy — better for mom and baby.

Let me help you out: There is nothing that pregnant woman have to stop doing if they were doing it before they got pregnant. Tennis, jogging, yoga, poledancing. It’s all good and up to the woman to know what feels right and wrong.

Just wanted to say how stuck up and pretentious Reece is not to announce her pregnancy. Yes it’s obvious she’s pregnant but her fans (who made her rich and successful) deserve better – nothing intrusive, just a simple one sentence statement, how hard is that! – I will not see her movies anymore. It’s funny how they hate the paparazzi but are willing to be filthy rich and live the high life. You can’t have one without the other.

So since she did not announce her pregnancy to her fans, you will not see her movies again? That sounds a bit extreme. I go see movies for entertainment and hope to see quality films not because of star’s private life or how they handle it. Different strokes for different folks I guess.

Wow you really need to get over yourself. She doesn’t owe you or anyone else any details about her personal life. And if you’re the kind of person who would stop seeing her movies over something as stupid as not announcing a pregnancy, you were never a real fan in the first place.

If it’s a private country club, how are the paparrazi in there taking pics? Was it another member who took the pics then sold them?

Perhaps it was a staged photo op. You know the type the everyone accusses other celebrities of doing. They are pretty good shots and since the tennis court seems to be protected from view the photographer would have to be inside court with her.

Not necessarily. I’m a photographer and I know the kinds of cameras that have great zoom in quality. They probably used that. Knowing Reese, she hates the apps and tried to sue them for assaulting her daughter back in 2005.
