Actress-model Kimberly Stewart and her 9-month-old daughter Delilah stopped at Starbucks last weekend in Los Angeles, Calif. The single mom looked casual chic in a flower print top and skinny jeans, while her gorgeous girl color coordinated on Sunday (June 3). The day before, the pair were seen at a different Starbucks location. Baby Delilah was seen in another cute outfit, accessorized with a headband.
It looks like Delilah is no longer wearing a helmet. The last few times we’ve spotted the mother-daughter duo, Delilah has been wearing a protective apparatus on her head.
Delilah’s father is actor Benecio del Toro. Though the pair are no longer together, Kimberly said last year that he was at the hospital for the birth and has been “very involved.”
And grandpa is none other than legendary rocker, Rod Stewart.

Helmets like the one Delilah was wearing are not for protection, they are used to reshape the child’s skull. After she was born, her skull plates most likely did not align properly, resulting in the need for a helmet to frame them while her bones solidified.
They are relatively common, I’ve seen babies with them plenty of times. One of my own cousins needed one shortly after she was born and it came off after a few months.
Anyway, Delilah is totally cute.
Orthotic devices, such as the Hanger Cranial band/helmet, to correct plagiocephaly are not a “protective apparatus”. Their function is to reshape the skull, not protect the head from injury.
Yes, the device IS a “protective apparatus”. The defintion of apparatus is: “c : an instrument or appliance designed for a specific operation.” I believe a helmut fits into the “instrument” cataqgory of that definition. And it is PROTECTING her head from being mishapen.

Well thanks for the info. I had no idea why she was wearing that helmet, other than wondering if she either had a tendency to bang her head on things, or if it was a medical issue.
It’s becoming more and more common for babies’ skulls to become flat or misshapen due to being placed on their backs to sleep to ward off SIDS. Plagiocephaly occurs in 1 in 10 infants, and has increased 600% since 1992 when the American Academy of Pediatrics started its “Back to Sleep” program for SIDS.
Blah blah blah. Are you the same person that explains this over and over again everytime we see a picture of this baby?
And FYI, the helmut IS technically PROTECTING her head….protecting it from being misshapen. C.B.S. didn’t say “protecting her head FROM INJURY”.

I didn’t know their bones can sometimes just not align properly. I always thought it was just neglect – leave a baby lying alone on it’s back all day and it’s head is flat at the back, the helmet then reshapes it. Ah well, I know now! x

Given who her mother is this kid has every chance of being lazy and dumb as she is and living with the Stewarts she is more likely to emulate them than the Del Toros as most of his family are in P Rico and his brother in NY.
