Denise Richards has partnered with celebrity stylist, Cristophe, to debut the Denise Richards Volume Extend by Cristophe hair care collection. As an actress and mother-of-three, Denise wanted a hair care line that was not only good for her and her daughters’ health, but had amazing styling capabilities for their gorgeous locks.
Denise opens up to Celebrity Baby Scoop about her new hair line, her three daughters (Sam, 8, Lola, 7, and Eloise, 10 months) who always keep her laughing, and her thoughts on cutting and dying the girls’ hair.
CBS: Tell us about partnering with celebrity stylist Cristophe to debut your hair collection on ShopNBC.
DR: “When I met Cristophe in 2010 there was an immediate connection. We both have a mutual affinity for hair and understood the challenges that many women face as they relate to hair health and maintenance, specifically volume.”
CBS: What kind of products do you have in your hair line?
DR: “Volume Extend is a volumizing line that uses cutting-edge formulas to achieve the perfect balance of volume and thickness without any frizz. The line includes shampoo, conditioner, hair spray, volumizing spray and volumizing mousse.”
CBS: You always seem to have a good hair day! What’s your secret?
DR: “When I’m working, I have the best in the biz making sure I look perfect from every angle; I just let them work their magic! But when I’m at home, it’s all about my kids, which means my beauty routine is pared down to the bare minimum. I think the best way to keep it simple is to adopt a beauty routine that keeps your hair healthy and your skin glowing.”
CBS: Your girls also have beautiful hair. Do you want them to have long hair? Are they allowed to cut it if they want? When are they allowed to start using color and products on their hair? What’s your best advice to parents of girls to not have ‘hair issues’ growing up?
DR: “My girls can have long or short hair, whatever one makes them happy. So if one of them did want to cut their hair, I wouldn’t mind at all. I think they’re a little too young to use color in their hair, but they do use what’s in my shower so they are using Volume Extend!
My best advice to parents is to always give their children positive reinforcement. I think it’s important to teach children tricks that they will hopefully pass down to their children. It’s all about trying new things and learning how to work with the hair you have. Eventually, your child will have their own unique sense of style.”
CBS: How are the girls doing? Please tell us what they are into and some of the things they do to make you laugh.
DR: “The girls are great! They are into everything these days and every single thing they do makes me laugh!”
CBS: What are your summer plans this year with the family?
DR: “We plan on having plenty of trips to the beach and pool this summer. Maybe we will squeeze in a vacation. Now that school is out, they are ready to play with friends and spend time with family.”
CBS: What are some of your favorite childhood summertime memories?
DE: “Some of my favorite childhood memories are from growing up in Illinois. I will never forget the family vacations where I spent with my loved ones, and of course, my pets.”
CBS: Tell us about your upcoming Tyler Perry movie.
DR: “I loved working on my new movie, Madea’s Witness Protection. Tyler Perry is great and the character is definitely a new role for me. I’m very excited for the movie to be out in theatres!”
CBS: What’s up next for you?
DR: “I have a few more acting roles coming up, and am in the process of developing new line extensions for Volume Extend alongside Cristophe which I am really excited about. Plus, taking care of my girls as always!”
