Calvin Klein model Christy Turlington was photographed walking with her 8-year-old daughter Grace and a friend in New York City on Thursday (June 14).
The 43-year-old model mama – who is also mother to son Finn, 6, with actor Edward Burns – walked closely to her young daughter as the pretty pair made their way down the street.
Christy- who launched her documnetary film titled No Woman, No Cry advocating for global maternal health care as well as Every Mother Counts, a campaign designed to educate and support maternal, newborn and child health in 2010- has spoken about the catalyst to becoming a maternal health advocate.
“I became a global maternal health advocate when I became a mom eight years ago,” she reveals. “After delivering my first child I experienced a complication that claims the lives of thousands of women who do not have access to the care I received that day.”
“Once I learned about the global statistics related to maternal deaths, I felt compelled to use my voice and resources to do all I could to prevent these senseless deaths,” she adds.
