Katie Holmes and Tom Cruise have reached a settlement agreement less than two weeks after the actress filed for divorce. Suri will live primarily with Katie in their 3-bedroom apartment in New York City while Tom will get generous visitation rights.
People reports a source said, “They both love their daughter, and Tom thinks she should be with her mother.”
Tom also “didn’t want his family dragged through the mud,” says the source. “Neither one of them wanted this to be hashed out in public.”
Holmes’s lawyer Jonathan Wolfe said in a statement on Monday, “The case has been settled and the agreement has been signed. We are thrilled for Katie and her family and are excited to watch as she embarks on the next chapter of her life.”
He also added, “We thank Tom’s counsel for their professionalism and diligence that helped bring about this speedy resolution.”
The agreement is confidential and its terms will not be disclosed.
