Katie Holmes and Suri had a fun-filled play date in NYC on Friday (July 13). They went to the Children’s Museum of the Arts, got ice cream from Via Qadronno and visited FAO Schwarz. Suri had her face painted and carried her new stuffed animal around.
It’s been reported that Katie has made a big effort to make friends in their new Chelsea digs and has been taking Suri to the playground in the building.
Hollywoodlife.com reports the actress has been socializing and making friends with other neighbors who are moms.
Everyone is “treating her like a normal person,” a source told the New York Daily News. The source also said that her new playground pals “never bring up Tom.”

All the kids in my home neighborhood used to get ice cream cones from the local ice cream truck almost every other evening in the summer. We’d fill ourselves up with it on hot, summer days since we knew we wouldn’t be getting nearly as much once September arrived. It’s healthier than a lot of the crap I see some kids eating & it’s a fun, summery treat.
It seems they are making a major effort to get her interacting with other kids now…makes me wonder whether the damage has been done already. She was always seen by herself, being carried, holding blankies. If so, she is going to need a lot of therapy when she’s older. Scientology is messed up.
Uh scientology wasn’t the one holding her since she was a baby Tom and Katie were.
