Katie Couric shared a gorgeous photo with her two daughters – Ellie, 21, and Carrie, 16 – on the set of her new show Katie via Instagram on Friday. “How did my girls get to be so grown up?? Yikes!!” Katie writes. “Love this pic of us in the studio!”
Celebrity Baby Scoop caught up with Katie at BlogHer in New York City earlier this month. “My daughters are my best accomplishment,” the proud mom said.
Katie went on to talk about her girls who have “turned out to be really good people.” And she thanked their longtime nanny!
While neither of her girls are planning careers in broadcasting or politics, one of them hopes to be a teacher.
The former Today show host is getting ready to debut her new talk show next month.
“We’ll have a wide range of topics,” she said. “I feel like I still have so much to learn, like raising teenage daughters and caring for an aging parent.”
She also talked about how over-parenting will be a common theme in her upcoming shows.
“We’re doing too much for our kids,” she said. “We’re raising a generation that doesn’t have a sense of purpose.”
Katie also talked about the death of the girls’ father, Jay Monahan. “He was young and took really good care of himself,” Katie said of her late husband’s shocking diagnosis with colon cancer in his early 40s.
