Thomas Beatie: “Being Pregnant Is The Most Incredible Experience”

ITV Studios Guests

If Thomas Beatie – A.K.A “The Pregnant Man” – had his way, there would be a fourth pitter patter of little footsteps running through his home.

“Being pregnant is the most incredible experience,” the 38-year-old father-of-three shares with the Sunday Mirror about expanding his family with new girlfriend Amber Nicholas. “But we want Amber to do it this time around. I think it would be amazing to experience pregnancy as the father.”

“Amber and I are totally smitten. We would love kids together and we’re already discussing it,” he adds. “I would love another girl so I have two of each, but any kid is a blessing.”

“It is even possible we could both be pregnant at the same time,” he says. “Amber suggested we both try to get pregnant and whoever gets there first goes through with it.”

“My surgeon has advised against me getting pregnant because it would be a lot harder now I’m biologically a man,” he says. “I would have to have a caesarian, but I’d willingly do it to have another bundle of joy.”

The couple plan to use the same sperm donor Thomas used for his existing children – a 6ft blond Lithuanian man who has a black belt in Taekwondo – because he wants “all the kids to be related.”

Thomas -  a transgender male who preserved his female reproductive organs – first made headlines in 2007 after photos of his bearded face and pregnant belly were made public.

His ex-wife Nancy – who has two children from a previous marriage – was unable to get pregnant following a hysterectomy so while they were married, Thomas gave birth to all three of their children - Susan, 4, Austin, 3, and 2-year-old Jensen.

Amber is mother to daughters Lauren, 21, and Mattison, 15, with her ex-husband.

Time to come up with new ways of getting attention and making money. The “pregnant man” thing has gotten old.

Ugh l always say people have the right to be happy any way they choose. And that goes for him to. But lets be honest he is trying to have his cake and eat it too. You are not a pregnant man you biologically are still a women!!! Women give birth everyday you are no more special. Give it up. You may feel like a man but til you take out all your reproductive organs…..guess what your still a women!!

So just cause you hack off your tatas, doesnt make you a man..you kept your womb and uterus WHICH is clearly only a womans trait, this woman is a joke.

Why have a child with someone you have only just started dating? It’s ridiculous. This person just wants to stay in the spotlights.

Attention seeker. And also, like the others said, “he” is still a woman. He is more like a flat chested woman with short hair and facial hair. He is not the first one and is not special. I am all for sex change if someone really wants it, but if you want to be a man, go for it all!

Aside from the already mentioned, wasnt “he” broke? Yet he wants more kids? He should just pair up with Octomom and be done with it……

My grandmother is more man than ‘he’ is. And she has more facial hair too.

Sex change or not, you’re STILL belong to the gender in which you were born. Sorry, but surgery does NOT change that fact.

Poor kids… They are going to be as f***ed-up as octomoms’ kids. Shouldn’t someone step in and say anough is enough?

All of you should brush up your knowledge about gender and sex. Just as a hint: Gender doesn’t mean what you think it means.

If Thomas claims to be a man, he’s a man – no matter what parts he has.

Maybe you should brush up on on your knowledge of science and DNA. Gender is dertermined by your DNA, not if you claim or want to be a man.

I didn’t know your mind could just spontaneously change the DNA makeup of your body.

Like Everlee said, brush up on gender and sex. They’re not the same. Gender has nothing to do with DNA. Sex is determined by DNA. Gender is a social construct without scientific relevance determined only by how one presents socially. He has every right to present as whatever gender he feels like, and every right to use his genetic sex to take advantage of abilities that other men aren’t given, and he deserves to be respected for who he is and how he chooses to communicate that. More power to him for daring to defy transphobes and stand up for himself as himself!

As I said: Gender doesn’t mean what you think it means!

What you think it means – that’s sex. Sex is determined by your DNA (and your parts), gender is determined by how you feel. If you’re lucky enough to be cis-gendered – and in our society, I feel the need to call it luck – great for you. If you’re queer – equally great for you!

Enough already. There are 7 kids between all of them. Give it a rest.
