Ben Affleck: My Wife Makes Me A “Better Person”

With his latest flick Argo hitting theaters this weekend, Ben Affleck covers the latest issue of The Hollywood Reporter and opens up about family life with Jennifer Garner and their three children, and staying in touch with his famous ex, Jennifer Lopez.

On his wife Jennifer Garner: “Jennifer played such a profound role in making me a better person. We don’t have a perfect marriage, but she inspired me; and finding myself in that marriage and having a child dovetailed with getting to be a little more mature.” He added of his wife, “She truly is kind. She means no one any harm. She doesn’t have ill will for any person. She’s not competitive with other people. She’s not spiteful. It’s one of those things where it becomes almost aggravating at times. Every time I go, ‘F— him!’ I see in her face that she just thinks that’s petty and small.”

On work and kids taking up a lot of time: “There are so many decisions to be made, and it’s more than you can get to each day. There is this underlying anxiety not just about getting the movie done but getting it done really well. It keeps my head spinning — even when I am giving the kids a bath. I can be giving them a bath or feeding them, and sometimes they say, ‘Dad, pay attention!’ Kids eat up that kind of hobby time. I used to ride motorcycles. I used to play basketball. And now basically I’m at home with them, or I work.”

On staying in touch with Jennifer Lopez: “We don’t have the kind of relationship where she relies on me for advice, but we do have the kind of relationship where there’ll be an e-mail saying, ‘Oh, your movie looks great.’ I remember when she got American Idol. I said: ‘This was really smart. Good luck.’ I touch base. I respect her. I like her. She’s put up with some stuff that was unfair in her life, and I’m really pleased to see her successful.”

I know. I’m also married to a goody two shoes and sometimes you just wish they’d say something edgy and opinionated about someone. It would make life more interesting with them if they weren’t always so darn nice about everything.

He is so full of Sh@* with his Jennifer Lopez comment.

Only two years ago he throw her under the bus blaming her for his own career slop, and yet he wants us to believe that they email.

The man is chanpaning hard for an Oscar this year it’s so pathetic.

I hate to agree with you and as much as I dislike JLO, Ben an A-hole with his

” I respect her. I like her. She’s put up with some stuff that was unfair in her life”

Ya like him cheating on her, then blaming her when thing didn’t go right career wise. I too remeber that interview, I do believe he was promoting “The Town” at the time. He did the same thing to Gwyneth Paltrow cheated on her then blamed her.
