Brooke Burke-Charvet Encourages Kids To Drink Water

Celebrity Mom Brooke Burke-Charvet, Alliance For A Healthier Generation And Brita Team Up To Launch The Brita Bottle For Kids

Mom-of-four Brooke Burke-Charvet has teamed up with Brita and the Alliance for a Healthier Generation to encourage kids to reduce their intake of sugary beverages and drink more water. In an effort to make that step easier for parents, Brita is introducing the Brita Bottle for Kids.

Brooke opens up to Celebrity Baby Scoop about balancing motherhood with her four children - Neriah, 12, Sierra, 10, Rain, 5, and Shaya, 4 – staying healthy while always “on the go,” and her thoughts on this season’s Dancing with the Stars

CBS: Tell us about teaming up with Brita and the Alliance for a Healthier Generation to encourage kids to drink more water.

BBC: “As a mom of four kids it’s important that I make sure they are leading healthy lives and that includes drinking water over sugary beverages. I’m teaming up with Brita and the Alliance for a Healthier Generation to encourage other kids and parents to do the same and Brita makes it easy with the new Brita Bottle for Kids that has a built-in filter and fun designs so kids can stay healthy anywhere.”

CBS: How do you stay balanced?

BBC: “I am lucky to love what I do professionally and I love being a mom. I do carve out time for myself – even if it is just an hour alone each week to relax and regroup – and I make sure my kids are a priority and give them each one on one time so that they feel special. Somehow or another it all seems to work out.”

CBS: What’s one example of how you keep your kids healthy?

BBC: “We are constantly on the go between home, school and athletic practices, so I have learned to keep the car stocked with healthy snacks like organic mixed nuts, protein and granola bars and dried seaweed.

I also make sure my kids are drinking plenty of water during the day. I recently discovered the Brita Bottle for Kids, a reusable bottle with a built in filter, and it makes it so easy for the kids to fill up with fresh filtered water anywhere and avoid buying sugary drinks.

For our family, it is just about keeping the selection healthy and simple so we are all able to make good choices.”

CBS: Who do you think will win this season of Dancing with the Stars?

BBC: “I’d be a fool if I made any predictions or picked a winner for All Stars. It is a really talented cast and tough season. We are seeing finale level dances every week so even an eight is like a ten this season. I really can’t wait to see who takes home the mirror ball trophy!”

I thought it was possible to drink the tap water in the US? I don’t think there is a need for a filter to stay healthy.

  3. This is a very good initiative. This will help children to learn the importance of water and how drinking water is good for their health. I like this. Thumbs up for the Brooke and the team.
