Melissa Joan Hart: “Post-Sandy Life”

Mom-of-three Melissa Joan Hart shared a snapshot of her sons – Mason, 6, Brady, 4, and Tucker, 6 weeks – surviving the aftermath of the superstorm.

“Post-Sandy life,” MJH posted via Instagram. “The essentials, boiling water, flashlights, Keurig coffee maker, space heater, mamaRoo chair.”

The proud mom posted another sweet photo of her newborn son, writing, “Delicious!”

“Tucker has been an absolute joy and an amazing addition to our family,” the actress recently shared with Celebrity Baby Scoop. “I’m starting to feel the sleep deprivation kick in. In the beginning I thought I had it figured out and it seemed easy. But now the chaos is starting to kick in. Tucker is a ‘hairy’ baby, like a gorilla, but he is a good sleeper so we’re lucky.”

The boys’ father is Melissa’s husband of nine years, musician Mark Wilkerson.

WTF? don’t they live in LA? real cute, people, real cute. why don’t you post some pictures of the utter devastation New Yorkers have encurred and draw some attention to their needs instead of posting irrelevant baby pictures.

She lives in Westport, Connecticut. Not every celebrity lives in LA. Calm down. Also, it’s not only people in NY who have suffered because of Sandy. MILLIONS of people have been affected in multiple states.

you calm the fuck down. i spent the last weekend volunteering in Staten Island and am so sick of people talking about Sandy when they don’t have a clue how much your fellow American, I don’t care whether you’re from Connecticut or Godknowswhoville, are still struggeling to get the basics, such as food, clothes, water . wake up people, this is real!

Then stop posting on a celebrity baby website. And watch your language. You don’t get the right to tell people who can and cannot talk about being affected by Sandy. I mean you’re complaining yet you’re posting here. Get a grip. She’s right, MILLIONS were affected. The Jersey Shore was wiped out. Breezy Point basically burned the ground. Staten Island is under water. Trees are down everywhere. Thousands are still out of power. YOU do NOT get the right to tell us what to think or say or do. GET OFF THE COMPUTER AND GO AWAY.

hey guess what, Cat, you are talking to a New Yorker, so STFU! yes, shut the fuck up, there I spelled it out foryou. that’s what I love about this site. they don’t censor. you get to tell me where and what to post. it’s called freeedom of speech. I’m not complaining I’m stating a fact. that stupidass people like you sit in front of a computer and look at celebrities’ baby pictures while you, yes, you, could do something to contribute. what have you done to help out? My whole entire family, including my kids, was out there this weekend busting their butts trying to help . wake the fuck up.

I understand you’re upset but accusing people of doing nothing but look at pictures in blog is pointless. I mean you were obviously lookig at pictures on this blog, that’s how you came to comment on this article. You also obviously care enough to keep coming back and checking the comments.

You tell people to get off there ass and do something, but not everyone can. I admire you for working hard and using what resources are available to help those around you. While I haven’t donated time (I live on the west coast) I have donated money, I’m not the richest person in the world and I’m unemployed, but I figure what could give will at least help where it can.

Also using this whole “I have freedom of speech” crap is extremely old. Yes you have the right to curse all you want and people have the right tell you to find better words. It’s not a one way street.

yes, Freedom of Speech is as a matter of fact very old. it’s one of the first amendment rights. and I guess crap is not a curse word? well, fuck I’m flabbergasted by your comment. what exactly are you saying. this is highly entertaining.

          • Anonymous

I guess the ability to read and comphrend alludes you. I never told you not to curse, I said “freedom of speech” gives people equal right to tell you not to curse, as much it gives you the right to use curse words. I curse, I never said I didn’t. You assumed I didn’t. Maybe read more thoroughly next time. Your highly entertaining but maybe you should go sleep off your anger…

          • bubbles

what should I comprhend, I’m sorry? maybe you should go study proper English/spelling. You Are, not your. did you mean you’re? sorry dear, berating somebody on a public forum requires a certain level of affluency.

          • Anonymous

THE HORROR! How have I managed to survive in this world?! I accidently used the possessive adjective instead of the contraction. Human error, I made a mistake on celebrity internet blog! Take away my degree!

Let’s try this again. YOU ARE highly entertaining. Go sleep off this resentment you seem to have towards people.

          • bubbles

spell check is a beautiful thing in case you ACCIDENTALLY forgot. maybe somebody should take their own suggestion and read their own posts before one posts? as I said it takes a certain level of finesse and affluency to boast about your “degree” neither of which you seem to possess.

        • bianca

For your information – I DO have an idea about how much people are suffering. That’s why I have donated as much as I can right at this moment, and I WILL donate more when I get my next paycheck on friday. It’s also why me and one of my co-workers have come together to gather donations of money and clothes and other items to send to people. We have already sent 17 boxes of different items including clothing, blankets, baby items, etc. And again, we will be sending more.

Don’t jump to the conclusion that just because I am on a baby website, that I do not care or that I am ignorant or oblivious to the suffering going on on the east coast. It’s actually pretty ignorant of you to believe that if someone is not a “new yorker”, that they don’t care. I DO CARE. Sandy has affected people of my very own family and I hate knowing that enough isn’t being done to help everyone that needs it.

I do have to say though – for such a tragic event to be happening in your part of the country, you are awfully aggressive and argumentative. I would think that someone in your situation wouldn’t be out picking fights on the internet. I hope that whatever is bothering you, gets fixed ASAP so that you can focus your energy on more positive things that will actually affect you, and hopefully others, lives positively.

And as a fellow New Yorker, I’m telling you to shut up. My relatives in New Jersey have it even worse than we do in New York City, mainly because their home is now partially floating out in the Atlantic Ocean & their beloved restaurant is covered in sand & stale water. If there’s any state that’s in dire straits right now, it’s Jersey.

So stop giving us New Yorkers a bad name by sounding like a self-centered jerk who doesn’t have any compassion for other human beings, including those in neighboring states (who are also Americans, in case that lil’ fact slipped your mind).

i’m sorry, I didn’t realize this was a competition of who is worse of, must have slipped my mind. and because your relatives’ restaurant is inoperable makes Jersey worse off then New York? yes, you probably live in New York City and have no clue what Staten island and the Rockaways look like. and what did you do this weekend? compassion much?

          • Elle

Agreed. The world doesn’t revolve around NYC.

        • Daniella

I’ve got four relatives/friends from Staten Island & the Bronx staying in my cramped apartment. Plus, I’ve gotta work, which kinda comes with the territory of attending a university hospital. And no, it’s not a contest, but you seem to enjoy making it one by stating that no one has it worse than Staten Island.

However, having your home literally disappear into the ocean kinda sucks. They have NO home to go back to, so yeah, that really, really stinks for them. Why don’t we just say that everything in the coastal northeast feels like a frigid, watery hell right now.

Anyway, because we are on a baby site, her kids are absolutely beautiful!! It sucks not having power, we’re still without power as well. Have to find things for the kids to do! It’s tough, especially with a six year old, a four year old and a new baby!!

Ignorance is bliss for so many. go pull that blanket over your head and pretend it’s not happening right next to you. that’s simply a suggestion….

to all of you out there who have bombarded me with your pointless comments, notice her picture reads ” Post-Sandy Life”. it’s an open invitation to comment on how clueless and ignorant people can be, when your biggest complaint is running your house on a generator. many, many , many other celebrities such as Christina Aguilera, who does not live in New York by the way, Mary J. Blige, Bruce Springsteen and many others have lent their voices and priviledged status to commiting to help, not promote themselves and their “beautiful kids” with the words Hurricane Sandy attached. yes, I am angry and tired after everything I have seen and experienced in Staten Island this weekend ,as are my friends who have tirelessly worked in Red Hook and the Rockaways volunteering. My friend’s house was looted just yesterday. i invited a young mother with her two sons who I met at the shelter yesterday over for dinner tonight, so they could have a couple of hours of peace of mind. I am happy, no overjoyed, that my initial comment has sparked such a debate because at the very least you all will be thinking about those who are left with the aftermath while we all look at baby pictures.

Christina Aguilera, Bruce Springsteen and Mary J. Blige aren’t living in houses without electricity. They are able to go out and sing for charities, etc. Melissa Joan Hart has a 6 week old baby, no electricity and isn’t a singer. What would you like her to do? She’s taking care of her family. She’s not hurting anyone.

bruce springsteen is on the road touring, but he very well might be without electricity (unless he has a generator) because he lives in coastal rumson, new jersey.

I have friends who are musicians (nowhere even remotely near Bruce Springsteen’s level of fame, obviously) and trust me – being on a tour bus is A LOT more comfortable than being without electricity, etc. Tour bus living is difficult in a lot of ways – but you still have simple luxuries like heat, hot water, tv, etc. that so many of us Americans take for granted. Also – when you have millions of dollars, even if your house gets flooded or ruined, you have the money to immediately begin repairs. And you can also go stay in an amazing hotel until your house is finished.

I am not negating his loss if in fact his house was flooded/damaged. I am just stating that he’s not exactly in the same place as the millions of working class americans who have lost everything.

Regardless – Melissa Joan Hart is NOT a touring musician. She is a mother to 3 children, one of whom is a newborn. She’s not hurting anyone and she’s not preventing anyone from getting the help that they need. She’s also not using her fame and money to go to some hotel like she very well could. She’s at home, using a generator and making the best of her situation. Seems pretty humble and normal to me.

I know what devastation looks like, my heart goes out to the people who were effect by this storm. I spent weeks without power, taking care of a funeral for a sudden death from the storm and a terminally ill person, along with a child. Took years to recover financially and emotionally. I’m glad your are standing up for people, but it doesn’t alter the fact that millions of people have to live without homes, electricity and food everyday of their lives, not just for a few weeks until everything is back to normal. Millions of people also need somebody to be passionate about helping them out too. Like I said, the East Coast is a very small part of the world that will recover one day, where as little villages in a country living below the poverty line, where children are born to die, will probably continue to stay the same.

Bubbles first and foremost l commend you for your efforts in helping those in need during this horrible time. But l fail to see where your anger stems from?? I think many people have and still are pulling together during this horrible time & doing everything they can to lend a hand. Whether thats donating blood, collecting food, donating money/time. People ARE helping. And yes if l had alot of money or alot of time l would be doing alot more. I live in Philly & we are so blessed that damage here was minor but it doesnt mean for one second we are forgetting what our fellow americans are going through. My cousin lives right near the Queens fires. Her bro was without power until sat. So many of us know what is going on and yet many of us still feel helpless. Keep doing what you are doing and be proud but spending time on a baby blog attacking people is not using your time wisely. You are obviously stressed upset and angry and quite frankly you are berating people for no reason.
Melissa J Hart could of easily picked up & went to a fancy hotel but she and her family chose to stick it out just like many other average americans are forced to do. I hope you have a better day. And hoe your family is safe but l do think you should find a little less anger and use it towards maybe the thing you should be mad at which is Sandy herself not your fellow americans.

People are still struggeling there. Haiti is still struggeling. I wish everyone would look into the bigger picture or at least cop to not giving a shit and rather look at pretty pictures. peace out. guys please, I can’t handle this, I’m not strong enough. I know I tried to be a bad-ass and treat you all like you’re inferior and I’m Mother Theresa, but really I’m a scared little girl, My trailer got blown over from Sandy, so I’m just a litlte on edge right now. Please except my sincere apologies.
I promise to stop coming back to check the comments on this post, because that’s just sad and shows what a loser I am. This will be my last post, I promise. I’m going to go spend some time with my neglected children now. Thank you all for showing me the light.

I just voted for Obama because I’m black and he’s black, and that’s all that matters, right??
P.S. I like to fart in a shoebox.

From your relentlessly childish posts it is quite apparent what a bunch of white supremacist ,backwoods, ignorant, mentally and educationally challenged bunch of degenerates I’m dealing with. I would say God help you. but you are truly beyond that.
