Most celebrities keep their baby name a secret until after the baby is born, but country singer Jake Owen couldn’t wait to reveal the name of his first child who will be born this month.

Owens told Taste of Country Nights during an interview that he and his wife Lacey are naming their daughter Olive Pearl Owen. The couple loved the name Olive – and had already settled on the name when Drew Barrymore named her daughter the same thing!

“Which made my mom and dad think it was cooler … they thought of Olive Oyl,” Owen said.

This isn’t the first time celebrities have picked the same baby name.  Kristin Cavallari and Vanessa Lachey both have boys with the cute name of Camden.  Shortly after Lachey announced her baby name, Cavallari tweeted that “Apparently Camden is a popular name.”

She quickly clarified her thoughts, tweeting, “By the way that wasn’t a bi**hy tweet at all. I obviously love the name and I’m glad other people do too.”

Owen said the middle name also has a special meaning for him, as the name Pearl is after Owen’s godmother who died in July. She was excited that the couple was expecting their first child, however passed away before she found out it was girl.

The singer reportedly already has the name Pearl tattooed on the inside of his left wrist!

Taste of Country said that Little Big Town singer Kimberly Schlapman has a daughter named Daisy Pearl and she asked Owen if she “inspired” him with his own baby name choice.

“You stole the name is what she’s saying in her southern way,” Jimi Westbrook quipped back.

Old fashioned or vintage baby names are becoming a baby name trend among celebrities. Besides Drew Barrymore who also named her daughter Olive, Isla Fisher and Sacha Baron Cohen have a daughter named Olive.

Pearl is also becoming a popular celebrity baby name. Jack Osbourne just named his daughter Pearl Clementine, while Up All Night actress Maya Rudolph named her daughter Pearl Minnie. Kings of Leon rocker Caleb Followill and model Lily Aldridge chose this as a middle name for their daughter Dixie Pearl Followill.

shut up some of those names have special meaning to the parents which is all that matters what about all the celebs that have named their daughters Olivia even dating back to the 1950′s. when somebody names their daughter Harper it’s usually after author Nell Harper Lee. not all celebs wait until after their baby is born to reveal the name and until the internet age the public had recourse

“When somebody names their daughter Harper it’s usually after author Nell Harper Lee”. Do you even read what you’re writing??? This may be the craziest thing you’ve ever said.

I wouldn’t use the names Olive or Pearl for my own child, but I think it’s sweet that Pearl has a special meaning to them. Why does everyone think that it’s our right to say what they should or shouldn’t name their child??

I am not fond of the name, but I do like that it sounds like a classic name. It’s not my personal choice, but I think it’s very cute. It’s better than some ridiculous names (audio science, pilot inspector, etc come to mind)
