Restoration Hardware Baby & Child unveiled its new store in Santa Monica last weekend, and model-actress Molly Sims joined in on the ribbon cutting. The new mom was sure to get some great decorating ideas with her nearly 5-month-old son Brooks in mind

“What I love about this place is you walk in and you feel like you’re walking in with a designer, but you’re not,” Molly tells Celebrity Baby Scoop of the new store. “And you’re not going to pay those prices. But you get to see what something can become and it depends on your style.”

The Las Vegas actress says there’s something for everyone at the posh new store.

“If you’re wrought iron, if you’re wood, if you’re gender neutral, if you love mirrors and more like Louis the 15th – each little section is a whole presentation,” she says. “So even if you’re only buying the linens or you’re buying the lamp, or you’re buying the headboard, you kind of see what it can become. I love going through spaces like this because it’s almost like a museum, but you get to buy from it.”

“I think with [Restoration Hardware] Baby & Child, it’s no different than decorating a room for an adult,” Molly continues. “They treat it the same. So instead of just using cute little baby fabric, you’re using amazing linens, amazing fabric even if it’s for your child.”

And when it comes to home decor, the Hollywood mom loves to mix it up.

“I’m a big fan of mixing – so I would mix steel, brass, and I would also mix it in with wood,” Molly shares. “So I like looking around – magazine tears, going through shops, looking at different prints, paintings. I think for me, when you decorate a room, pick one thing to start with. Pick one color and go from there.”

To see some of Molly’s design ideas, take a look inside baby Brooks’ posh nursery.
