Jennie Garth On Her Post-Split Holiday Plans

FRANKENWEENIE Los Angeles Premiere

Newly single mom Jennie Garth is navigating her first holiday season since her split from her husband of 11 years Peter Facinelli. The Eleventh Victim star admits that it’s “weird” making plans to share time with their three daughters this year.

“This is my first shared holiday,” Jennie tells US. “Their dad and I are hammering out the details of that, which is weird. They’re actually gonna be with him for Thanksgiving and I’m gonna be with some friends, and then I get to have them for Christmas.”

Even though her daughters Luca, Lola and Fiona will be with their Twilight star dad for Thanksgiving, Jennie says they’ll have their own little turkey celebration together as well.

“We’re gonna do our Thanksgiving on Saturday. I’m gonna make a whole meal, have them go shopping with me and help me bake everything, and my mom and her husband are gonna come over,” she says, adding, “For Christmas, it’s all about baking cookies — anything sweet! — and then giving them out to the teachers and crossing guard guy.”

Sharing custody after a divorce sounds plain awful. I suppose it’s good for children, but I, as a mother, would get depressed about not being with my children all the time. For me, it wouldn’t just be “weird”, as Ms. Garth says, but out and out devastating. I don’t know how any parent adjusts well to such an arrangement. Godspeed to all in such a situation.
