Sarah Michelle Gellar and Freddie Prinze Jr. have announced their son’s name.
Since welcoming their second child in September, the Buffy alum, 35, and the actor, 36, have remained mum on their baby’s birth date and his name. But now, the high-profile is ready to reveal the moniker they chose.
They have named their son Rocky James, SMG’s rep tells Us Weekly.
Wed for ten years, the pair are also parents to 3-year-old daughter Charlotte Grace.
Rocky is the name of two of the most famous boxers of all time — Marciano and the fictional Balboa. Additionally, it is a name of English origin, meaning “stony” or “craggy.” It is alo used as a nickname for the Italian “Rocco” (after the 14th-century saint).
James, meanwhile, is Freddie’s middle name.

I do not like the name. I LOVE the name Charlotte…but Rocky? Nope.
I grew up across the street from a guy named Rocco (whose nickname was Rocky), so I think the name Rocky is great and brings back fond memories of my childhood.
Little Rocky – it’s fun. Rock James – sounds sexy. Rocky & Charlie Prinze – not a bad combination.

I love the name Charlotte for a little girl for sure! But Rocky, I don’t think so. But then again, what do they care if anyone likes the name anyways?

Eh..could be better, could be worse. I like James better, but then again, it’s not my baby. I only say James because (well first off I really do like it) it sounds classic, like Charlotte. Rocky doesn’t strike me as classic, nor trendy, really.But hey, if that’s what they like, then good for them! SN: They are an adorable family!
Perhaps they are breaking the chain of calling another male Freddie since the first two have really bad drug problems.
It’s not that bad compared to Rumer, Scout, Tallulah, Tennessee, Egypt, Bronx, Sparrow, Elula, Astala, Pilot, Maxwell, Maple, Apple, Poppy etc etc etc…..
What’s wrong with Poppy? Scout and Tallulah are fairly common names. Elula has an actual history behind it, so it doesn’t fit your list. I really don’t like the name Rocky, but I’ve definitely heard worse.

I’m kind of disappointed. Charlotte Grace is so classic and beautiful, I was hoping for something just a lovely for their baby boy. Rocky isn’t my style but I love James.

Rocky sounds weird. I think it fits for pets not people! I expected something more traditional given the name of thei daughter. Likely “James” is from dad’s side. Just a few know that Freddie Prinze Junior is just an alias. His real name is Freddie James Prinze.
Freddie Prinze Jr. is not an alias….it’s his name. His middle name is James, he doesn’t have to say his middle name every time he says his name….

Nicknames used to be just that… But now people put them on the birth certificate instead of giving the poor kid a proper name they can go by if they ever want to.
