Jennifer Lawrence: “I Was Put On This Earth To Be A Mother”

Silver Linings Playbook Special Screening in Beverly Hills

Jennifer Lawrence loves children and sees herself as a mother one day.

In an interview with The Daily Beast the actress – who is currently dating Nicholas Hoult – said, “It’s so weird for a 22-year-old to say it. I do feel like the reason I was put on this Earth is to be a mother, which is why it’s funny for me to end up with such an overwhelming career. Ever since I was a baby, I was always playing house.”

She added, “I did grow up in Kentucky. I was a nanny and babysitter. I always loved children. Then again, I’m not even mature enough to buy a house yet. I can’t buy a car. I’m still paying off my Volkswagen. If someone proposed marriage to me, I’d be like, “I’ve got to pay off my Volkswagen.”

When discussing landing the role of Katniss Everdeen in The Hunger Games – she almost didn’t take it.

“I had chosen my path. I was going to be the indie actor. I was going to drive my kids in a minivan and have a normal life. I knew if I said yes to this, it would change my life. I wasn’t sure if I was ready.”

Jennifer Lawrence tends to complain a lot about how her life has turned out after accepting the role of Katniss Everdeen in THG. She has become a millionaire. She gets to travel the world and experience things we can only dream of. I wish she would be a little bit more humble about it. I definitely wouldn’t think twice, if I had the opportunity to swap lives with her.

I know what it’s like to feel that way. I could have told you when I was 10 that I was born to be a mother, it is the only thing that did any good for my life. If not for my daughter I would probably be a drug addict or dead.
