Jake Owen & Wife Welcome First Child: Olive Pearl

It was an extra special Thanksgiving for Jake Owen and Lacey Buchanan.

The country crooner, 30,  and his model wife, 22, welcomed their first child in Nashville, Tenn. on Thursday (November 22). “Today is the greatest day of my life. Welcome Olive Pearl Owen. 6lbs 3 oz Turkey Baby!!! Happy Thanksgiving,” the proud papa announced via Twitter.

The new parents plan to call their daughter by her middle name, the singer’s rep tells Us Weekly. Baby Pearl is named after the singer’s godmother who died in July.

“Lacey and I are so excited to start our own family,” Owen says in a statement. “We are looking forward to teaching Pearl everything we learned from our parents and also learning from her.”

The couple wed in the musician’s hometown of Vero Beach, Florida, in May 2012. They met on the set of Owen’s video for Eight Second Ride.

Congratulations to the Buchanan-Owen family!

Wow that baby will grow up to be gorgeoussss!
Olive and Pearl are both lovely names….. But for the life of me i cannot understand the logic behind making Olive her first name but then exclusively calling her Pearl.
She will be known as and thought of as pearl so why not call her Pearl Olive.

    It makes no sense what-so-ever!

Maybe because there’s an olive brand called Pearl Olive(s)…?

If her last name is Owen them her initials would be P.O.O. so I guess thats why they chose Olive as first name.

I’m not sure why you say she’ll be gorgeous….i don’t know what her mother looks like but that man is pretty goofy looking. I’m sure she’ll be beautiful anyway, but it’s not like both parents are models.
I agree about the name thing though, people are retarded. They just want to make things complicated and confuse the kid.

Love the name Olive, but it’s becoming popular among celebrities, isn’t it?

Pearl and Olive are both lovely names – and are very very popular among celebrities this year.
