Angelina Jolie May Give Up Acting For Her Children

Is Angelina Jolie giving up the big screen for good?

According to an interview with Britain’s Channel 4 News, it is a future possibility for the year-old Oscar-winning star who admits that she would definitely out the brakes on her acting career in order to care for her six children Maddox, 11, Pax, 9, Zahara, 7, Shiloh, 6, and 4-year-old twins Knox and Vivienne.

“I think I’m going to have to give up acting as the kids hit the teenage years,” the Maleficent star comments, explaining that there would be “too much to manage at home.”

“I’ve enjoyed being an actress,” she continues. “And I am so grateful to the job. I’ve had great experiences, and I have even be able to tell stories and be a part of stories that mattered…It’s a really lucky profession to be a part of. But if it went away tomorrow, I would be very happy to be home with my children.”

The former UNHCR Goodwill Ambassador – who was recently appointed UNHCR Special Envoy – says that she hopes to devote more time to her humanitarian work.

“I wake up in the morning as a mum, and I turn on the news like everybody else, and I see what’s happening, and I want to be part of the world in a positive way,” she claims, noting that her philanthropic efforts have become a much bigger part of her life ever since she adopted son Maddox in 2002.

It seems Angelina’s partner and fellow A-list actor Brad Pitt shares his wife’s stay-at-home sentiments, hinting at a retirement from acting within the next three years to Australia’s 60 Minutes.

omg – here we go again. she was going to take some time off when the twins were born, they were going to get married, etc. now they are ‘engaged’ lol that is hilarious, you hve lived together for years, have 6 kids and NOW you are engaged ???? these two are so laughable it is sad. they need publicity. time to bring up marriage, kids, stay at home mom.
how bout: brad takes a bath and combs his greasy hair and angelina actually spends some time with her kids with out any nannies, etc.
    that might actually be newsworthy……

I rarely ever see her with nannies when she is out and about. Body guards yes.. nannies very rarely.
I don’t see how they are laughable because they waited years plus 6 kids after to get engaged. Someone is a little knit picky.
You don’t know how she is indoors with her children.
I actually applaud her for not always dressing her children like their little models. She lets them be who they are and dress how they want. Kudos to her!

She did take time off after the twins were born. Over a year I believe. A lot more time off than most mothers are able to take. She seems like a great mom. She loves her kids and they seem happy and well cared for. I just wish I had the ability to retire and spend time with my child or even the ability to take extend breaks as she does. I think she and her children are very lucky.
