It looks like Love and Theft musician Eric Gunderson and his wife Emily are set to welcome a baby boy in May.
“I’m so excited to have a boy,” Eric gushes to PEOPLE. “Emily would be happy either way, but I’ve been secretly planning father/son hunting and fishing trips all along.”
“I might even let him try his hand at guitar, although you know those musicians are a handful,” he jokes.
The couple announced their great news in November.
“I’ve wanted to be a father forever, and now I feel like we’re in a place in our career where it won’t be the most nerve-wracking thing ever,” Eric says. “I feel like I can support a family now. It will be good. We’re really excited.”
Due on May 18th, the baby will be the first for the couple, who tied the knot in 2010.
I hope he’s joking when he implies that he wouldn’t be happy either way! Anyway, I can’t like a guy who’s already planning on killing animals with his baby!
He didn’t say he wouldn’t be happy if he had a girl, he just said he’d wanted a boy. It’s ok to have a preference.
