Jessica Simpson is reportedly doing it. So did Tori Spelling and Britney Spears. It seems like many celebrity moms are having their kids very close together, causing many to wonder what is up with the back-to-back baby trend?
Although she has yet to officially confirm it, Simpson is reportedly pregnant again with her second child – and her daughter Maxwell is just seven months old! A source told Us Weekly that it “definitely wasn’t planned” and Simpson even told People shortly after Maxwell was born that she wanted to wait before she had another.
“I don’t want to have another baby right away but I do want to have more kids. Having babies back to back has to be so hard,” she said. “I really want to give Maxwell all of the attention and all of the love and time that I possibly can give her. When I feel like it’s the right time to bring another little one into the family, I will. I won’t wait too long but I won’t do it immediately.”
Tori Spelling also had a surprise pregnancy when she found out she was pregnant with her fourth child when Hattie was just one month old! She told Access Hollywood that she went to the hospital to treat a migraine and they had to do a pregnancy test before they could treat her and she found out she was pregnant.
“Dean and I kind of sat there in shock for a while and then we said, ‘Well, we wanted four… This is when our miracle wanted to come… so we’ll take it,” she said.
Spelling gave birth to her son Finn when Hattie was just 10 months old.
Britney Spears is another celebrity mom who had back-to-back babies. Her son Jayden James was born just two days before Sean Preston’s first birthday!
Heidi Klum had three babies in three years…with two different dads! She had her daughter Leni with ex-boyfriend Flavio Briatore in 2004, and her two sons with Seal were born in 2005 and 2006.
