Happy Holidays from Celebrity Baby Scoop!
In the spirit of the season, we’re taking a look at some of our favorite celebrity families and their festive plans. From Neil Patrick’s Harris‘ “relaxing” time with his family-of-four, to Tori Spelling‘s activities with her big brood, to Snooki‘s first Christmas with baby Lorenzo, let’s read how the celebs plan to get jolly with their families.
- Neil Patrick Harris:
How I Met Your Mother star Neil Patrick Harris and partner David Burtka are set to celebrate the holidays with 2-year-old twins Gideon and Harper.
“This year will be an L.A. Christmas,” NPH tells Celebrity Baby Scoop of their festive plans. “Both sets of our parents are flying in.”
And while having toddlers is a joy, the Doogie Howser alum admits they’re not the easiest travel companions.
“I’m very much looking forward to relaxing, and not having to navigate airport madness,” the dad-of-two says.
What does new mom Nicole “Snooki” Polizzi want for Christmas? The Jersey Shore star said the only thing on her wish list this year is time spent with her 3-month-old son Lorenzo.
“I got advice from other moms—don’t go too crazy with the gifts, because he really doesn’t know what’s going on,” she said. “He’s only three months old. I got him a few toys, but I did get him a lot of Christmas outfits.”
And she’s hoping to start some new family traditions with fiancé Jionni LaValle.
“I would love to have traditions, because we don’t have any yet. I’m just looking for stuff – you know, Googling,” the reality TV mom said.
- Jane Krakowski:
30 Rock star Jane Krakowski is set to celebrate the season with husband Robert Godley and their son Bennett, 20 months.
While she says “giving back is such a big part of the holidays,” the actress is also excited to host Christmas this year.
“This holiday season, we are hosting Christmas at our house for the first time in Bennett’s honor,” Jane told Celebrity Baby Scoop. “He is the youngest child now, and I figured that the person who has the youngest child gets to throw the holiday get-together, because that is where all of the spirit of Christmas is. Christmas is, like, three days after we finish wrapping 30 Rock, so it is all a bit crazy right now.”
And although Bennett is “showing signs of excitement for the holidays,” it turns out he wasn’t too impressed with St. Nick.
“We had fun getting the Christmas tree and we recently brought Bennett to Santa and got the classic screaming photo on Santa’s lap,” she laughed.
- Holly Robinson Peete:
Actress Holly Robinson Peete and husband, former NFL star Rodney Peete, are ready to celebrate the season with their four children: 15-year-old twins RJ and Ryan, and sons Robinson, 10, and Roman, 7.
“My kids are so excited about Christmas,” Holly told Celebrity Baby Scoop. “My youngest still believes in Santa though his older sibs tease him. He believes firmly that the belief in the man at the North Pole and directly correlated to the amount of gifts he gets so he is not jumping ship yet!”
The mom-of-four went on to say they also celebrate Kwanzaa during the holiday season.
“We celebrate Kwanzaa and in those 7 days the kids learn more about their culture and ancestral history than they do all year at school,” Holly shared.
- Melissa Rycroft:
Dancing with the Stars winner Melissa Rycroft and husband Tye Strickland are excited to celebrate the holidays with their 2-year-old daughter Ava.
“Snow, and Santa, it’s all so new to her, and it’s so fun to get to experience Christmas through her eyes,” the reality TV mom said of Ava’s excitement for the festive season. “Especially because this is the first time she’s going to get to experience it, so this is going to be an extra-special Christmas for us.”
- Jennie Garth:
To celebrate her first Christmas after splitting from husband, Twilight star Peter Facinelli, Jennie Garth said it will be a “quiet” holiday season this year.
“This year we’re going to be celebrating it quietly at home, just the four of us,” Jennie said of her Christmas plans with daughters Luca, 15 , Lola, 10, and Fiona, 6. “Then, we’re going to be taking a trip to see some dear friends in Virginia.”
“I’m going to be taking them to a play for Christmas, and trying to up my fun game as a mom,” she said. “They do a lot of fun things with their dad, so I’m trying to up my fun game. I’m going to look in L.A. and see what are some fun holiday things we could do. I know that Neil Patrick Harris is doing a play — we might check that out in Pasadena.”
- Soleil Moon Frye:
Punky Brewster star Soleil Moon Frye is gearing up for a happy holiday season with husband Jason Goldberg and their two daughters Poet, 7, and Jagger, 4.
“They can’t wait for the holidays,” Soleil told Celebrity Baby Scoop of her girls. “It’s our favorite time of year. We love cooking, baking, doing crafts and sitting around the Christmas tree together, spending quality time as a family. We love having movie nights and making all sorts of goodies, from delicious treats to homemade presents.”
And they even got into the spirit of giving this holiday season.
“This year we did something really special and the girls and I went to one of our favorite organizations, Baby2Baby, over the weekend where they held an awesome celebration for underprivileged kids. We worked the hot chocolate stand and my little ones loved it. I think the holidays are a great time to teach our kids about the importance of giving back.”
- Angela Kinsey:
The Office star Angela Kinsey and her ex-husband Warren Lieberstein will celebrate Christmas together with their 4-year-old daughter Isabel.
“I don’t find it tough to co-parent through the holidays,” the actress told Celebrity Baby Scoop. “We try to pick holiday traditions to do together. We often eat a meal together on Thanksgiving and we always open one gift together on Christmas eve and have breakfast or lunch on Christmas Day. Those little traditions make all the difference for our daughter.”
She added: “I think making the choice that it is about your child and not about you helps you navigate your ego and any bumps along the way.”
- Ali Landry:
Actress Ali Landry and husband, film director Alejandro Gomez Monteverde, will hit the sand and surf with their kids – daughter Estela, 5, and son Marcel, 1 – this holiday season.
“This year we actually rented a home in Mexico,” Ali told Celebrity Baby Scoop. “My husband’s family is from there. So we’re on the beach. We’re not doing a white Christmas. We’ll be there over the holiday – surfing!”
- Tori Spelling:
Tori & Dean: Home Sweet Hollywood stars Tori Spelling and husband Dean McDermott are sure to have a very Merry Christmas with their four children – Liam, 5, Stella, 4, Hattie, 1, and Finn, 3 months – at their home in Los Angeles.
“Definitely a lot of baking,” Tori told Celebrity Baby Scoop of their holiday plans. “My mom’s a great baker. We always baked a lot growing up. So that’s something I love doing with my kids. And decorating the tree is a big thing.”
- Tiffani Thiessen:
Saved by the Bell alum Tiffani Thiessen and husband Brady Smith are excited to share the joys of experiencing Christmas with their 2-year-old daughter Harper.
“It’s like reliving it when I was a kid,” Tiffani told Celebrity Baby Scoop. “We started the Elf on the Shelf this year and Santa’s a big deal. It’s neat. It reminds me of what I remember what Christmas was like when I was a kid.”
